The #Paris #Olympics have concluded with glory, but the #seamless #sportswear with #UHMWPE(ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene) yarn never ceases!  With the successful conclusion of the Paris #Olympics, #sporting #events have once again stimulated global interest and passion, with the growing emphasis on #sports #activities, the need for #personal #protective #equipment (#PPE) is gradually increasing, to protect against #physical and #mechanical #injuries, #protective #sportswear is usually made of high-performance #fibers such as #UHMWPE (#Dyneema®, #Qianxilong, #Spectra®), #Kevlar®, #SuperFabric, #Cordura®, #Goretex®, etc . Different materials produce different effects of #abrasion and #cutresistant effect. #UHMWPE is a very #lightweight material with a #density of 0.97 g/m2, and fabrics made of UHMWPE are lighter in weight, Due to its excellent #abrasion resistance and super #high #strength, good #impact #resistance, and #energy absorption, which cause #UHMWPE has a good development prospect in protective sportswear.  The article recently published by a Chinese scholar team, "Design and development of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene seamless sportswear," analyzes the needs for protection and comfort in #sports #apparel and, based on this, conducts an integrated zonal design for #functionality and comfort. This study primarily uses ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) as the main material, combined with the circular characteristics of various structures, to design the structural components of seamless sportswear, achieving a zoned design for the #athletic #gear. The research findings can provide a basis for the pattern and structural design of UHMWPE seamless sportswear, ensuring rationality and #efficiency in #garment design.

The Salomon Index.03 is a sustainable shoe from recycled materials that is designed to have a second life in ski boots. The overall design is very neutral with decent comfort. The shoe is intended for one run per week, per Salomon's website. This will serve as an active lifestyle/running hybrid shoe. This replaces the Index.02 which emphasized highly on the afterlife aspects of the shoe. Version 3 focuses on dialing in the shoe's performance by lightening the InfiniFoam midsole and cutting weight through reduced material (a bonus to Salomon's goal of reduction, reduction, reduction). Finally there's the afterlife aspect. On the tongue of the shoe is a QR code which runners can scan to register the pair, print a shipping label, and drop the shoe off at a shipping center free of charge.
