🤔 Could this be the future of social media? A giant livestream video portal connecting places and people. A new experiment and art installation links New York with Dublin. And it’s been hugely popular. 🙋♀️ Wired magazine reported friends and family waving to each other, and complete strangers engaging with and entertaining each other from across the Atlantic. And then, just like social media often does, things got a bit weird. ‘Inappropriate behaviour’ forced the portal to close for a time: - Moonies were made. - Swear words were shown. - Potatoes were waved. The portals have now reopened with more staff (moderators?) and barriers in place. The artist behind the portal concept sees them as a network of sculptures (not a form of social media). Interestingly, similar portals in Poland and Lithuania have operated for three years without problems. But the parallels are interesting. It made me wonder, is it possible to ever have social media without attracting bad behaviour? It seems moderation is key. #SocialMedia #Innovation #FutureTrends

𝘓𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘰𝘯 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯𝘦𝘥: 𝘕𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳 𝘑𝘶𝘥𝘨𝘦 𝘈 𝘉𝘰𝘰𝘬 𝘣𝘺 𝘐𝘵𝘴 𝘊𝘰𝘷𝘦𝘳 👀 (the same apply with our online presence) 👉 My website isn't fully functional, and I'm virtually invisible online. 👉 The books I've written remain unedited and unreleased. 👉 My new online program and upcoming retreat are still in limbo. Is it due to a lack of support, tech skills, or bad karma?🤨 It doesn't matter anymore! Because I've come to accept that this whole online thing is not who I am; it's just a facade to support a very fragile avatar trying to fit into the ever-changing world of algorithms." This conclusion comes from my stay in a monastery. Before I arrived there, I was not aware that I was mentally exhausted. I was driven by the idea that I had to spend more time on social media to gain your attention and that of the algorithms, all in the name of helping others by neglecting my own needs. The time I spend there, off from my phone and any form of noise gave me the inner insight that I needed to make the right decisions and give some vacation to my ego. In fact, two of the most important events of the year are simultaneously taking place in less than one week: The Global Day of Unplugging ( I am the director in Portugal) and the Lisbon tourism market. Collaborators I was working with bailed on me at the last minute. In short, I'm not ready; the shit is about to hit the fan, and I'm okay with that. You may have a smooth sailing life right now, but we both know there's always room for leveling up. In 2021 - 🙂: My costs worked for me. 🛠️: I raised my prices. Benefits: I got to save more money, & could afford to hire people to help me scale my business In 2022 - 🙂: I was surrounded by amazing like minded individuals. 🛠️: I decided to attend more networking events Benefits: I was given an opportunity to speak at different events & met incredible people In 2023 - 🙂: I was getting great clients. 🛠️: I decided to host my first ever retreat (international!) Benefits: I discovered that not only did i love it but you guys did too, later on in the year I hosted 2 more & networked with so many amazing women in business. When we talk about accessibility, 99% of the time it's talked about with the removal of physical barriers. Stairs preventing access? Build a ramp or elevator. Door too difficult to open? Automatic door. What is not talked about are the invisible barriers. There a many people that have the mind and capability to work but cannot navigate the outside world EVEN with accommodations. Many who have personal services but cannot use them in a work setting or do not have enough assistance hours to safely get to work, work, and return home safely. These examples are a lack of accessibility as well.
