This #WorldMSDay, we shed light on the disease that so many live with. Multiple sclerosis is more commonly diagnosed in young adults, typically between the ages of 20 and 40. Oftentimes, Lifeline is thought of as a tool for older adults to use when they fall or have a medical emergency. The truth is, Lifeline can be beneficial for younger people too. Like Lucy, a young women living with MS. She uses Lifeline to continue living life on her terms. Let's raise awareness and support for those living with MS, regardless of age or stage. July is Chronic Disease Month, a time to bring awareness to the experiences of individuals living with chronic conditions. The majority of American adults have at least one chronic disease, and 42% have more than one. Despite this, there is still such a gap in access to resources, treatments, and research. Why is that so? For one, 96% of people with these conditions have an invisible illness. So many people suffer in silence and so many live undiagnosed. In addition, historically, the health experiences of marginalized groups have been underresearched, leaving so many individuals without information and resources. These are just a couple of reasons why we need awareness and advocacy. Every patient's voice matters, and we will continue bringing the patient community together as a united front advocating for a better future. #chronicdisease #chronicdiseasemonth #patientcommunity

One of the biggest challenges social care workers will face, in assessing a person with Huntington's needs, is that they often lack insight into their own abilities and will often say "I can manage, I'm fine" when it is clear they are not. It is important to bear this in mind and take advice from family and other healthcare workers that know the person. It is important to remember that it may take longer to assess a person with Huntington's disease due to communication difficulties and slow cognitive processing of information. It is good practice to not take their first response to questions at face value. For more information see our social worker guide: https://loom.ly/AR8doZE

Every April during Parkinson's Awareness Month, we come together to shine a light on Parkinson's disease and the millions of individuals and families affected by it worldwide. As advocates for change and progress in the Parkinson's community, we at Alliance Homecare have a simple yet powerful request: Take 6 minutes of your time to take action! Six minutes might not seem like much, but in that time, you can make a significant difference. Whether it's raising awareness, supporting research initiatives, or advocating for better care and resources, every action counts. Together, let's make this Parkinson's Awareness Month a catalyst for positive change and meaningful action. Join us as we #Take6forPD and stand in solidarity with the Parkinson's community worldwide. Together, we can make a difference. #ParkinsonsAwarenessMonth #TakeAction #SupportParkinsons #CommunitySupport #HealthcareAdvocacy #TogetherWeCanMakeADifference Parkinson's Foundation The Michael J.
