It has never been possible for the USA (as for Europe) to get into a conflict alone. From WWII to Syria, not mentioning Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan, there has always been the presence of allied forces, also from Europe, side by side with the US Armed Forces. Nowadays, it is even less possible to imagine a scenario where the USA or Europe can confront an antagonist in war without mutual support, not only because of Europe's interests but precisely for the USA's. Having the Europeans alone engaged by Russia would mean an almost certain engagement in the Pacific from China for the USA -in which the States will be alone, or just with Australia and New Zealand. That is not enough. A propaganda rant from a dubious presidential candidate is, at the same time, worrisome and unrealistic for both Europe and the USA.
