    Powerful images that illustrate just how much drones have become a scourge on the Russo-Ukrainian front.🚨 The distinctive sound of #FPV kamikaze drones has become the terror of soldiers, often feared more than any other deployed weapons system. "Once you hear it, it's already too late!" 🔉 This striking video shows just how vulnerable soldiers and vehicles are to these drones, which can fly at nearly 300km/h. The speed 🚀 and the explosive charge they carry leave no room for escape. What options do #soldiers have to protect themselves? 🌳Adapted camouflage : Helps soldiers blend into their surroundings, making detection by drones flying at high altitudes difficult. However, camouflage has limits. Movement makes soldiers visible, and drones equipped with infrared and thermal sensors can easily bypass it. 💥Airburst ammunition: Effective but limited to the accuracy of the detection and facing difficulties when dealing with swarm attack from multiple angles. 🔫 Radiofrequency jamming rifle: Bulky and difficult to use against fast-moving drones. Only one drone at a time can be neutralized, which isn’t sufficient in the case of a swarm attacks. 🔦 Vehicle-mounted laser: A heavy and costly solution that requires a very accurate detection system. While effective, it targets only one threat at a time and takes several seconds to neutralize a drone. 🎮 Anti-drone drone: Mostly used against slow surveillance drones. Interception of fast FPV drones is nearly impossible. 🛡️ Personal radiofrequency jamming system: This hands-free solution requires continuous jamming at full power, which can be harmful to the human body, and 360° coverage isn’t guaranteed. At CERBAIR, we have gathered extensive feedback from the field to identify the strengths and weaknesses of these solutions. As a result, we developed the CHIMERA 200 🛠️, an autonomous and efficient battery-powered system that provides 360° coverage and ensures the detection of drones, including swarms. By emitting a specific waveform, it jams the frequency used by the enemy drone. This intelligent jamming technology protects vehicles 🚙, convoys 🚚, and ground units 🪖.     How do you know a team building event was a success? 💯 => When you need at least 3 days to recover afterward 👀 Last weekend, the CERBAIR team gathered around Lake Bourget for a sporty team building event, led by mountain risk management experts. 🔥 On the agenda: - Hiking and trails 🥾 - Kayaking on the stunning Lake Bourget 🛶 - Mountain biking 🚵♀️ - Abseiling 🧗♂️ - Team night orienteering 🧭 - Introduction to biathlon with .22 long rifle shooting 🔫 ⛷️ But after the hard effort came well-deserved relaxation (and feedback sessions), with some great moments of camaraderie shared over hearty meals 🍽️. This adventure strengthened the values that guide us at CERBAIR: commitment, pushing our limits, and team spirit.     🚫 The Limitations of Wearable Anti-Drone Jamming Systems 🚫 Wearable anti-drone jamming systems are often presented as an effective solution to protect each soldier from drones. However, it is crucial to consider their operational limitations before mass deployment: 🐘 Weight & Mobility: These devices are often heavy and cumbersome, making mobility on the battlefield particularly challenging. The additional weight can slow the soldier down and reduce their operational effectiveness. 🔋 Limited Battery Life: The battery life of these systems is often limited, as jamming requires a lot of energy, which can compromise their utility in prolonged missions. Once the battery is depleted, the soldier is left with an inoperative jammer on their back. 👷♂️ Tactical Overload: Wearing and using an anti-drone jamming system requires constant attention, preventing the soldier from performing other critical tasks on the field. This can reduce their ability to respond quickly to other threats. 🎯 Increased Detectability: The active use of these systems makes the soldier easily detectable by the enemy, especially when static. This drastically increases mission risks, making the carrier and their unit a priority target. ⚠️ Health Issues: The powerful RF emissions of these systems can be hazardous, exposing their users to potential long-term risks.     🔴 Increase in Drone Overflights 🔴 Security challenges related to drones have evolved significantly over the past few years, with a notable increase in incidents and growing security concerns.🛡️ 📈 Here are some statistics and recent trends to illustrate this evolution: 🔺2018: London Gatwick Airport was closed for 36 hours due to the presence of drones, affecting approximately 140,000 passengers and over 1,000 flights. 🔺2019: - The EASA - European Union Aviation Safety Agency reported a 40% increase in drone-related incidents in European airspace. - Over 1200 drone incidents were reported to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in the United States. - The U.S. Department of Homeland Security reported over 150 incidents where drones were used for potentially dangerous activities near large public events and demonstrations. 🔺2017-2020: Complaints regarding privacy breaches related to drone use increased by 50% in the United States, according to the ACLU. 🔺2020: More than 50 drone incidents were reported in European airports, causing significant disruptions and delays. 🔺2021: - An Europol report noted a 30% increase in the use of drones for criminal activities, including drug trafficking and illegal surveillance. - The use of drones for terrorist attacks was documented on several occasions in the Middle East, demonstrating their capability to cause significant damage. 🔺2022: The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) reported over 300 incidents where drones were used for malicious activities, including attacks on critical infrastructure. 🔺2024: The terrorist group ISIS circulated documents explaining drone technology and how to use it for malicious purposes.
