𝐖𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞 𝐁𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬, 𝐝𝐨𝐧’𝐭 𝐰𝐞? But, have you ever wondered, when was the first clinical trial “born”? James Lind often receives credit for being the author of the first clinical trial in May 1747. However, the roots of clinical research stretch even further back in time⌛ Beginning with this intriguing question, we are excited to announce our new rubric – “𝐂𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐔𝐧𝐛𝐨𝐱𝐞𝐝”🎉 At MONIPOL, we believe the Clinical Research industry is very interesting: from impacting patient health to navigating regulatory frameworks, it's a field where every day brings new challenges and opportunities for growth. Healthcare Consultant/ Speaker/ Author/ PAD, CLI, Amputation, DFU,Venous Ulcers/President, THE SAGE GROUP, #CLIFighter,
POTENTIAL NEW TREATMENT FOR NO-OPTION CLI PATIENTS The Flowox device from Otivio AS might provide an alternative to amputation for CLI patients with no options. The impact on the microcirculation is particularly intriguing. New treatments are needed for CLI, which is increasing in prevalence due to the aging population and the epidemic of diabetes. I believe the Flowox device is approved for sale in the EU but do not know the current approval status in the U.S. #CLI #CLTI #amputationprevention #amputationlottery #clifighters
New Study confirms that Flowox can have a significant therapeutic potential in no-option chronic PAD patients A research team from the University Hospital Erlangen, Germany recently published a study that confirms FlowOx effect on critically ill PAD patients who have exhausted all other treatment options and are left with palliative care. Dr. Henrik Hoel, Head of Medical Affairs at Otivio AS states: “We are excited about the results from Erlangen, in many ways this study completes our clinical documentation for FlowOx”, and Dr. Hoel continues: “This target audience are critically ill patients with very few other alternatives who are often facing leg amputations, the fact that FlowOx can help is very positive”. See the short Q&A with Dr. Hoel below here. #vasculardisease #FlowOx #healthcareinnovation #hometreatmentdevice #Otivio #PAD

The Cochrane Collaboration is an international charity which synthesizes medical research findings to facilitate evidence-based choices about health interventions involving health professionals, patients and policy makers. They are currently developing a new scientific strategy and want feedback from the public. There's more detail below from Cochrane - if you'd like to give some feedback here's a link to more information and a survey: https://lnkd.in/gF9wqsJW For the uninitiated, Cochrane calls the public (you) 'consumers' - which means 'everyone'. (I'm sharing this as I volunteer as a member of the Cochrane Consumer Executive - you can learn more about what we do here: https://lnkd.in/gMJBN9bW ) Here's a bit more from Cochrane about the scientific strategy: The Cochrane Collaboration is developing a Scientific Strategy to set out how we will achieve our mission by producing evidence that benefits global health over the next five years. The Scientific Strategy will direct our limited resources to the world’s most critical health needs. It is also an opportunity to raise Cochrane’s profile – helping shape the research agenda for global health and attract new funders and collaborators. Developing the Scientific Strategy provides Cochrane with an important opportunity to engage with consumers to understand their priorities and how they want us to address them. The Scientific Strategy will also align closely with our Organisational Strategy, which sets out how we will deliver our research and supporting activities in a way that maximises the benefits for consumers. The Organisational Strategy sets out ambitions for increasing our breadth and depth of consumer engagement. We have done initial work with our research community to map areas of global health need and draw up proposals for the areas we should prioritise in our Scientific Strategy. We are now keen to gain the views of Cochrane’s Consumer Network.
