Happy International HR Day! 🥳 In 2019, the European Association for People Management established “International HR Day” to highlight the significant value HR professionals bring to organizations and to raise awareness about the evolving demands and critical role of HR in today's dynamic work environment. Reflecting on my HR journey, I remember my college days filled with lots of student jobs as a tutor, tour guide, fundraiser, and international office / marketing specialist. Two days before graduation, I received my first official job offer as an HR admin assistant back home. At first, I thought, how fun! I get to do a little bit of everything. But "fun" wouldn’t be the word I’d use to describe my journey— instead.. it has been transformative. In that role, I encountered real and high-level issues and realized how, as an HR assistant, I could support everyone from the most junior to the most executive person in the company. It’s been challenging in the best ways. We don’t just handle compensation, benefits, or process paperwork; we support the most complex issues that affect people in their jobs, one of the pillars of their lives. 7+ years and 5 roles later.. I can say my HR journey has been eye-opening, rewarding, and tough, but it also fills me with hope. Hope that we can all achieve a level of empowerment and enablement, and that we can use technology to bring us closer (yes, closer, not farther) to people. So cheers to us! Experience: • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in human resources, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role. • Demonstrated experience in all aspects of HR including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compensation, and benefits administration. • Proven track record of developing and implementing HR policies and procedures to support organizational goals. • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, preferably in a multinational company. 2. Skills: • Excellent leadership and management skills with the ability to effectively lead and motivate a team. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with employees at all levels of the organization. • Solid understanding of employment laws and regulations, with the ability to ensure compliance in all HR activities. • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to handle complex HR issues with tact and diplomacy. • Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and other relevant HR software. • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously. 3. Education: • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree in HR or an MBA is preferred. • Professional HR certification such as PHR (Professional in Human Resources) or SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) is highly desirable. 4. Leadership Abilities: • Ability to develop and implement strategic HR initiatives aligned with the company’s goals and objectives. • Experience in building and fostering a positive and inclusive work culture. • Ability to mentor and develop junior HR staff, providing guidance and support in their professional growth. 5. Strategic Thinking: • Proven ability to think strategically and develop long-term HR plans that align with the company’s overall strategic direction. • Experience in analyzing HR metrics and data to identify trends and make recommendations for improvement. • Ability to anticipate HR needs and proactively develop solutions to address them. 6. Change Management: • Experience leading organizational change initiatives and effectively managing the human side of change. • Ability to communicate change effectively and garner buy-in from employees at all levels of the organization. 7. Business Acumen: • Strong understanding of the business environment and industry trends, with the ability to align HR strategies with business objectives. • Experience in budget management and resource allocation within the HR department. • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally with other departments to achieve organizational goals.
