🌟 #EnergyearEasternEurope 2024 This Thursday, Energyear Eastern Europe 2024 will be held in Bucharest, the first edition of the congress dedicated to renewable energies in Eastern Europe. The aim of this initiative is to create a platform for the exchange of knowledge, new technologies and discussion of current and future trends in the renewable energy sector in the region. According to SolarPower Europe, in alignment with the European Green Deal and REPowerEU, the EU solar generation capacity reached a new high of 259.99 GW in 2023, up by 40% from the previous year. While the EU continues to import the majority of its PV panels, initiatives like the European Solar PV Industry Alliance are set to enhance local manufacturing capacity to 30 GW by 2025, aligning with Europe’s energy independence and decarbonization goals. VdA participates in Lisbon Energy Summit & Exhibition Manuel Protásio and Ana Luís de Sousa will be moderating the Strategic Conference and Climatetech Conference during the Lisbon Energy Summit & Exhibition, a European event dedicated to the energy transition with the theme ‘Creating Tomorrow's Energy System Today’. The event takes place from 27 to 29 May and includes three conferences: Strategic Conference, Hydrogen & Decarbonisation, and Climatetech Conference. On 28 May, Ana Luís de Sousa moderates the panel ‘Utility scale solar: Overcoming challenges associated with electricity grid connections’ at the Climatetech Conference. This panel aims to discuss the challenges and strategies for implementing the European Solar Energy Strategy, including regulatory obstacles, infrastructure, optimisation and energy storage technologies. On the 29th, Manuel Protásio will moderate the panel ‘Mobilising public and private capital to accelerate the energy transition’ at the Strategic Conference. This session will explore financial strategies to promote the energy transition, encouraging investment and reducing decarbonisation costs.
