As we confront a period marked by rapid shifts in global development priorities, the imperative for rigorous, evidence-based methodologies within our practices has never been more acute. Our capacity to both quantify and elucidate the tangible and intangible impacts of our initiatives forms the cornerstone of strategic decision-making and sustainable development. This proficiency is crucial for substantiating the success of interventions and ensuring operational transparency that upholds stakeholder trust and meets increasingly stringent accountability standards. In response, we, in collaboration with the East Africa Philanthropy Network-EAPN, wish to invite you to the "𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝘃𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲-𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀: 𝗘𝗻𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗦𝗸𝗶𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗰𝘁" forum, scheduled to take place at the 𝗦𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲 𝗙𝗮𝗺𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘀, 𝗟𝘁𝗱, 𝗞𝗶𝗴𝗮𝗹𝗶, on the 𝟭𝟮𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰, from 𝟴 𝗔𝗠 𝘁𝗼 𝟰 𝗣𝗠. 🌟 Collaboration is Key: In our community, SMEs, governance, and NGOs each offer unique strengths, blending like pieces of a puzzle to drive progress and prosperity. Working together, they become a powerful force for positive change. Through collaboration, SMEs access resources, governance gains insights, and NGOs gain credibility. This delicate balance is essential for sustainable growth, ensuring everyone shares in prosperity. As part of the i-SME+East project, our partners in Armenia, Georgia, and Ukraine are compiling a report on the local landscape, mapping out key players in inclusivity. This report will provide valuable insights and support for those seeking to promote inclusion in their regions. 🏢 SMEs: Their innovative spirit fuels economic growth, bringing creativity and market expertise to drive job creation and local development. 🏛️ Governance: As custodians of regulations, governance fosters a fair business environment, providing stability and infrastructure for sustainable growth. 🌍 NGOs: Advocating for social causes, NGOs bring grassroots insights and targeted interventions, amplifying the voices of marginalised communities. Together, these institutions form an unstoppable force for positive change, ensuring that all share prosperity. The future is inclusive: be part of it. ERADICATING POVERTY THROUGH SPORTS • SDGs Advocate • Changing Youth lives • Coach • Footballer • I use sports to prepare & empower the next generation of leaders
United Nations Civil Society Conference 2024 With #2024UNCSC set for 9 - 10 May in Nairobi. Loads of thoughts and questions are rolling through my mind! Over 1000 CSO around the world will be taking part at the event.. It would be nice to hear their commitment through #WeCommit challenge. When people commit, one can follow through, if they don't then it's just talks as usual and nothing good happens (Shelfed talks and resolutions) We need to get out of the usual talks and do some work if we are to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals by 2030. At Global Youth Forum my team are committed to eradicating POVERTY in Africa (Kenya) one home at a time by empowering young people with relevant skills (through hands-on Coaching, Mentorship and the use of Sports (Football & Archery)) to enable them to create jobs or secure jobs, earn income and live better lives. We are OPEN in our dealings, TRANSPARENT in our actions, ACCOUNTABILE to those we serve and LEAD by example. I therefore would like to invite all the Civil Society organizations out there leaders to join the #WeCommit say their commitment and then leave by them. Through that we can know who is where, doing what and why. Above all, Civil Society Organizations should not compete with each other like they are doing now (If they compete in making positive impact in the community, thats good, but if they are competing to put others down so they can loot resources given to them, then that's the start of the problem which we mustaddress) Let's all embrace PARTNERSHIP & COLLABORATION in all we do and ensure no one is left behind towards the fight of achieving the #SDGs by 2030 Some great people I know out there I wish to hear from on this one Amanda Kazzy Cryer Nick Martin Cory Warfield Zohra Jalal Farah Eck, C.C.P. Nudhara Yusuf Carole Osero-Ageng'o Jackie Scully, M.Ed Kamilla Sultanova Crystel Hajjar Nisrine Kammourieh Yosr Khèdr Carlos Islam Carmen Lucia Morales Kathryn Good Alok Nayak Matthew Kilkenny (17 People representing 17 SDGs) Now who should we add on the list? Mention them on the comment and let's connect with each other too. #Togetherwearestrong #Sports4SDGs #FootballForTheGoals #Archery4TheGoals #OrdinaryVoices #GlobalGoals

📅 Today, we are bringing together youth entrepreneurs, partners, donors and key stakeholders in #Ethiopia to discuss how we can continue working together and supporting each other to create green jobs, embrace a circular economy and ensure dignity in #employment. At PIN, to respond to the diversity of contexts in which we work, the complexity of poverty causes, and the need to contextualise climate risks and find customised solutions; we are developing our expertise at the intersection of the humanitarian-development-climate nexus, and are helping to diversify livelihood options and develop skills for green economic development. 💚 ⬇ Read more about our work in Ethiopia with our partners International Rescue Committee and Solidaridad Network through the 'Leather Initiative for Sustainable Employment Creation' project, funded by European Commission and Czech Development Agency - CzechAid here!

Last week (6-9 May) the International Community Based Adaptation confernce (#CBA18) took place in Arusha, Tanzania, focused on ‘local solutions inspiring global action’. The conference hosted over 300 participants from over 50 countries, representing community-based actors, central & local governments, national & international NGOs, and donors. Diverse groups of people including Indigenous peoples, youth, men, women, and persons with disability were present. The discussions focused on #LocallyLedAdaptation (#LLA) but NOT simply #adaptation at the #local level. This conference, now in it’s eighteenth series, provides a safe space for practitioners to truly challenge one other. For example, what does it mean to apply the principles of #LLA in practice? (https://lnkd.in/dNYgjTUB) How would the principles look like if community-based actors like the #indigenous people re-defined them? What needs to happen for adaptation finance to reach the local level directly? Practitioners in different positions of power and privilege are encouraged to be intentional about shifting decisionmaking power to those most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change. Examples of how this is happening worldwide, were shared during the conference. It was a pleasure working behind the scenes with this team 👇🏼. Many thanks to all the session hosts for delivering such insightful discussions.
