Diversity in tech is a major initiative at Osano, especially as the privacy landscape continues to get more and more complex. It's important that we create technology that reflects ✨everyone✨ and that means having diversity of background and thought to make it possible. We're proud to have Nawaal Sayani (she/her), one of our Sr. Software Engineers in Test, sharing her experience at Osano and how we nurture an inclusive environment—with an emphasis on innovation, creativity, and growth opportunities as we scale. "Diverse teams bring a mix of perspectives, experiences and ideas, which lead to more innovative solutions and better problem-solving. When people from different backgrounds work together, they can challenge each other’s assumptions, reduce blind spots and encourage more creative thinking." -Nawaal Sayani Article here 👉 https://pvcy.me/3S4IADs We're #hiring! It’s okay if Software Engineering or your job in tech, in general, is just a day job. You don't have to be immersed in tech every hour of the day or love it beyond its ability to provide a livelihood. In my journey, from the music industry to software engineering, embracing diverse roles has shown me the importance of balance. Passion for technology is a bonus, not a prerequisite. What matters is respect for the craft, the ability to deliver, and finding personal fulfillment in your work. The tech industry should support a culture that values balance, inclusivity, and the diverse reasons people come into this field. I say this as someone who is very passionate about technology, its impact, and my place in it. #SoftwareEngineering • #WorkLifeBalance • #CareerPaths

Mission.dev can help with that mission 😉 Investing in leveling up the engineers in our network is what separates Mission from other marketplaces and recruiters. Having led product and engineering with my partner in crime (CTO) at Bus.com I totally get that it is hard for companies without economies of scale (of 100-1000’s of engineers) to invest heavily in engineering specific career development. Partnering with Mission gives companies access to technical talent to execute on their mission while we help provide the supportive engineering environment (community of peers, learning events, and technology) that top talent is looking for 🚀
Vice President of Operations and Strategic Partnerships | Entrepreneurial-minded Executive | Strategic Thinker | Expert in business scalability and exponential growth
I'm seeing a trend: the best software engineers aren't just looking for a job; they're seeking a mission. In today's competitive tech landscape, companies need to offer more than just a paycheck and benefits. The top talents are searching for roles where they can contribute to something meaningful—projects that challenge them, cultures that support their growth, and missions that align with their values. So, how can your company stand out? Showcase your vision, impact, and the pathways for personal and professional development you provide. Remember, in the quest for the best talent, it's not just about what they can do for you but what you can do for them. #TechTalent #SoftwareEngineering #CompanyCulture

this is the best advise for every fresher, the more you own the more you learn/know about the end to end product which is absolutely critical for unique insights.
"That's not my job" The more senior you get, the more you realize how wrong this mindset is. As your career grows, you take on more responsibility. Instead of just owning small features, you start to own the success of your team/organization. If there are major gaps critical for overall team success, you'll need to make sure you fill them in (delegation is fine). It doesn't matter who does the work, just that it gets done. There's no such thing as "that's not my job" for Senior+ engineers. If you're a Junior engineer looking to grow, you can accelerate your growth by adopting this mindset early. Taking on more ownership is a great way to find larger-scope projects that will grow your career.

The foundation of a lasting team is not skill, but synergy! In the tech industry, we often fall into the trap of equating a candidate's worth with their proficiency in the latest programming languages or technologies. While these are undoubtedly important, they are also learnable, and often more swiftly than we think. What's far more challenging to teach — and crucial for the long-term success of a team — are soft skills: communication, adaptability, problem-solving, and teamwork. It's the people, with their unique backgrounds, perspectives, and values, who contribute to the rich fabric of a team's culture. A team that shares a common set of core values and a commitment to mutual success is more resilient, collaborative, and innovative. When we prioritize these qualities in our hiring process, we're not just filling a position; we're investing in the future of our team and company. This has been on my mind for a while now, and I feel like our engineering team at Connect&Go is stronger than ever! <3

Not The Regular Recruiter && The Ice Breaker | Talent Spotter @ TechPods | IBM and MBA degree from Cardiff Metropolitan University
While some wait for year-end reflections, I will write mine to celebrate my work anniversary. 😁 Early days 👈 : ➖ Started working at TechPods back in April 2021, when we were around 20 people ➖ Didn't know a thing about technology and hadn't performed a single interview for an IT role Professional Growth (for the past year) 👈 : ➖ Had the chance to work on the breadth of my knowledge ➖ The team entrusted me with leading a meeting with the direction of engineering ⚙ and engineering managers for a brand-new partner all by myself ➖ Started working more closely with our engineers and developed several procedures to optimize and improve our hiring process ➖ Made myself a promise to hire at least 15 people until my next work anniversary and exceeded it by 27%, which led to scaling the team to 73 people now ➖ Started collaborating with the operations team on organizing more internal initiatives To conclude, I'm confident I'm in the right environment because our culture fosters open feedback and accountability. It's great to be part of a community that continuously challenges you to excel and values your input. 🙏 P.S. I am еxtremely thankful for the opportunity to be part of an extraordinary team like ours, and here's to countless more milestones together! 💛 #workanniversary #milestones #growth #reflection #culture #recruitment #softwaredevelopment

“Kindness” might not be the first word that comes to mind when most people think about securing and supporting tech talent, but it is at Coforma! Other words that are important to us include curiosity, collaboration, self-awareness, intelligence, thoughtfulness, and enthusiasm. A recent article from hatch I.T. explores the employee experience here, and members of our leadership team weigh in on how these traits align with our mission and drive successful outcomes for the communities our partners serve. We’re currently seeking values-aligned engineers, designers, and product managers to join our remote team. If you read the article and think this sounds like an organization you could thrive in, check out our open roles! We have links in the comments to both the Hatch IT article and our Careers page. #CoformaCulture #CivicTech #TechforGood #CoformaCareers
