🗯️Would you invest in a sector that has roughly doubled in size each decade since 1963? 📈 This is my main takeaway from reading the recently launched Beyond Borders – How Associations Business Events Bring the World Together by ICCA 📈Global association meetings evolution per number of meetings: 🚩1963-1972: 4.251 🚩1973-1982: 9.323 (+119%) 🚩1983-1992: 19.012 (+104%) 🚩1993-2002: 37.481 (+97%) 🚩2003-2012: 86.356 (+130%) 🚩2013-2022: 107.826 (+25%) By now, there should not be any doubt of the exponential impact the meetings industry has in the development of our societies. The clock is ticking... We can draw inspiration from its ability to weather challenges and find creative solutions. Embracing uncertainty as a catalyst for innovation, we invest in education, entrepreneurship, and equal opportunity, ensuring everyone can thrive. Moreover, strengthening legal systems and fostering cooperation are vital in combating crime and fostering a culture of legality. International cooperation is key, as is encouraging voluntary participation in compliance efforts. In essence, by embracing uncertainty, learning from history, and fostering collaboration, we can navigate challenges and build a more stable and prosperous future.
