How to Identify the Seasonality of a Niche for Your Blog Website? A seasonal niche is one that receives traffic during only a specific during of a year. Here are a few examples of seasonal niches: - Holiday-based (Christmas/Halloween/Thanksgiving, etc): seasonal peak during the holiday season only - Specific events, for example, Olympics/World Cup: seasonal peak only during the event - Camping/surfing/golf: seasonal peak in summers - Skiing/snowboarding: seasonal peak in winters You want to avoid a seasonal niche while making a vlog site because: - Seasonal niches experience fluctuating interest with periods of high traffic followed by significant drops. - Content relevance and audience engagement declines during off-peak seasons - Maintaining a steady income through ads or affiliate marketing becomes difficult with drastic changes in traffic - Building authority and trust with readers is challenging when the blog's relevance is confined to specific seasons. How Do You Know if Your Niche is Seasonal? - Open your web browser and go to trends.google.com. - Input your niche keyword or topic in the search bar. For instance, if your niche is "gardening," type that in and hit Enter. - Utilize the date range feature to customize the time frame. Analyze trends over the past 5 years and set your location to the United States. - Examine the "Interest over time" graph. Look for patterns, peaks, or troughs. Seasonal niches exhibit recurring spikes during specific times of the year (See the example in the image below).
