A recent report from The Centre for Social Justice highlights that "76% of people say that local groups know their communities better than larger, national, charities" We couldn't agree more: > Community groups intimately understand the most immediate needs of folks in your area. > They’ve already built trust with community members. > They respond quickly in the event of crises. > And they can get a whole lot done on shoestring budgets. When setting up your next charity partnerships, think grassroots. Use ActionFunder's explore tool to find local community groups: https://lnkd.in/e8HUBm2S

🤔Why is doing community research such a great idea? 🔗 https://ow.ly/pufr50QqXre Here are our top 3 reasons for charities to do community research: 1️⃣To better understand community needs: Community research allows charities to gather information about the specific needs and challenges faced by the communities they serve. This information can help charities design programs and services that are better tailored to these needs and will have a greater impact. 2️⃣Establish Credibility: Grant funders want to see that the charity they are funding has a deep understanding of the community they serve. By carrying out community research, charities can establish credibility with funders by demonstrating that they have done their due diligence in researching the community’s needs. 3️⃣To build stronger relationships with your community: Conducting research can help charities engage more deeply with the community and build stronger relationships. By involving community members in the research process, charities can demonstrate their commitment to listening and responding to community needs, and build trust and credibility locally. GRAB a FREE Lesson from my new course Grant Writing Essentials below // Grant Writer and Educator // Helping Writers and Nonprofits write kickass proposals that win grants
The onus for getting projects funded does not rest with the nonprofits alone. It is often supplemented by non conventional partnerships like these: ⇢ Think tanks contribute by analyzing policy impacts and suggesting improvements. ⇢ Media outlets play a role by raising awareness. Notice how "Humans of New York" stories have brought in donations for featured causes. ⇢ The United Nations supports nonprofits through a program like UN Volunteers, among other. ⇢ Local giving circles, where donors pool resources, is community-driven funding in action. The rise of these stakeholders illustrates how nonprofit funding is evolving beyond traditional fundraising methods. Which stakeholders and resources from these has your nonprofit reached out to? ---------------------------------------------------- Follow me Nalanda Joglekar. In 2024, we’re facing a significant shortfall in donations, essential for sustaining our extensive array of no-cost services and initiatives. To keep our vital work going, we urgently need 500 individuals to commit to regular contributions. This is the stark truth for us at our 501c3 & 509a2 nonprofit dedicated to aiding #widows. Without financial support, our organization cannot exist. Our model doesn’t require formal membership, relying instead on your generosity to continue our decade-long mission of support. It’s crucial not to assume others will contribute; rather, think of how you can make a difference. Your donation is a powerful statement of belief in our mission and the future support of countless new widows following in your footsteps. Sadly, we’ve found no dedicated foundations supporting widow organizations, and governmental assistance is both insufficient and not prioritized. For our survival into 2025 and beyond, we need your immediate support. Please visit https://lnkd.in/gyS5MMV to contribute. We will keep you updated monthly on the growth of our recurring donor community. Your support is more critical than ever. Despite rising costs and financial pressures, we’ve managed to maintain all our programs, from local groups and clubs to our free HOPE e-course, hundreds of podcasts and YouTube videos, social media outreach, health events, and widowhood research. Your help can ensure these resources remain available for those in need. Give today: https://lnkd.in/gyS5MMV Mail to: Modern Widows Club 127 W. Excitement Grows, As National-Make-A-Will Month Approaches Last month's excitement remains palpable, as anticipation grows over National-Make-A-Will Month in August. "National-Make-A-What Month?" offered a nonprofit CEO with knowledge of the pending celebration. "Why would we celebrate that?" replied a second nonprofit professional, asked how they will mark the occasion. Anonymity was granted to encourage respondents' most intimate reflections. This reporter will celebrate the month by sharing his 18 reasons why wills are the way, when nonprofits launch Planned Giving fundraising. August is indeed National-Make-A-Will Month. Though the auspicious occasion may not enjoy universal celebration, it is an opportunity for nonprofits to encourage gifts in wills from their most committed donors. I hope you can enjoy your July as your excitement for August grows.
