Managing our forests requires collective effort and collaboration. Just as a diverse ecosystem thrives with different species supporting each other, our forests benefit when we work hand in hand. By sharing knowledge, resources, and dedication, we can ensure resilient and thriving forests for the future.

Can we accomplish the global goal of planting 1 trillion trees by 2030? This is a very ambitious goal set by the United Nations Environment Program, and several initiatives have sprung up, even in Europe with goal of #3BillionTrees. But why is it so vital to plant new trees? Especially in at-risk environments, such as the Po Valley in Italy, where 100% of ecosystems are at risk, creating new forests means protecting protected areas and restoring habitats destroyed due to human activities. We have planted nearly 300,000 trees, also through the WOWnature platform, thanks to the support of citizens, businesses, and institutions. The current state of our forests and watersheds is alarming. 🚨 The combination of historical moves away from active land management and climate change has created a crisis for our ecosystems and communities. Through this crisis, we have advanced our organization, and recently, developed our new mission statement: To accelerate ecological restoration through conservation finance, enabling climate resilience for ecosystems and communities. Our work over the last nine years has continued to bring to light the challenges of insufficient and delayed funding for restoration projects. There is a pressing need for landscape-scale restoration in the face of catastrophic wildfire, extreme weather conditions, and whiplash precipitation events. This recognition led us to develop our new mission statement, but what sets us apart is not just our mission—it's the values that drive us. We spent the last year as an organization diving deep into what makes us unique at Blue Forest, and what matters to us most. We are pleased to share our new values, and showcase why we are driven by them. 🤓📚 Committed to Continuous Learning We’re dedicated to deepening our knowledge as a team. 🤝 Driven by Collaboration We believe ecosystem restoration can only happen through collaboration with partners and communities. 💡 Thoughtful Innovators For Impact We understand that deliberate and careful innovation creates long-lasting solutions. 🍃📈 Grounded in Science We believe effective ecosystem restoration is rooted in Western Science and Traditional Ecological Knowledge. 🌎💚 Passionate About Restoring Earth’s Ecosystems We’re driven by an unwavering commitment to restoring our ecosystems. We remain committed to advancing landscape-scale restoration, and look forward to continuing to advance our mission and embed our values throughout our work. Learn more about each of our values and how we embody them in this blog post by our Director of Strategy & External Affairs, Seren Pendleton-Knoll here: https://lnkd.in/gusVyX89

Systems, systems everywhere. Stocks and flows. Connectedness. Feedback and feedforward. Causality and leverage points. Non-linearity. When we upset our systems in any way, the effects can be far-reaching, so we must be intentional about balance. Think globally, act locally. Please support the preservation of local woodlands, farmland, water, and urban outdoor environments for the good of future generations, at the least. #SystemsThinking #GeneseeLandTrust

🌎 Happy Earth Day! Each year, Earth Day serves as a reminder to appreciate our beautiful planet, and to educate on the importance of protecting our environment. 🇬🇧 In the UK, we have a diverse range of landscapes and habitats; from woodlands, to peatlands, to wetlands, to seagrass, and even temperate rainforests. These habitats, and the biodiversity that they support, are at risk, and funding is needed to protect and restore them. 💡 Our mission at Kana is to bring about large-scale investment into Nature-based Solutions. By facilitating the market, and channeling private funding into natural capital, we're not just protecting the environment, but also securing our own well-being and building a green economy. It's a win-win for both Earth and humanity. #EarthDay #NaturalCapital #Sustainability

🌿 Restoring Mangroves for a Sustainable Future 🌿 As we navigate the challenges of climate change and environmental degradation, it's imperative to explore innovative solutions. Today, I'm thrilled to share insights on the crucial topic of mangrove restoration. Mangroves, often referred to as the "rainforests of the sea," play a vital role in coastal ecosystems. They protect against erosion, provide habitat for diverse marine life, and serve as natural carbon sinks. However, these invaluable ecosystems are under threat due to human activities and climate change. Fortunately, mangrove restoration presents a beacon of hope. By engaging in collaborative efforts, we can revitalize these ecosystems and unlock a multitude of benefits. From safeguarding coastlines to mitigating climate change impacts, the restoration of mangroves offers a holistic approach to environmental stewardship. At Gulf Gardens For Construcion, we're committed to driving positive change through mangrove restoration initiatives. Through partnerships, innovation, and community engagement, we're working to restore and conserve these precious ecosystems for future generations. Join us in this critical endeavor and let's together make a lasting impact on our planet. Together, we can ensure a sustainable future where mangroves thrive and ecosystems flourish. #MangroveRestoration #Sustainability #EnvironmentalConservation #MAP
