Randy Wootton, Amber Wendover (Principal at Thinking People Consulting), and Tom Perry (Chief Career Officer/Founder at Engaged Pursuit) sat down on the SaaS Expert Voices podcast to discuss the importance of clear communication and investing in your team's potential to drive organizational success. 💡 Amber introduced a practical framework for managing repeated behaviors: the "Rule of Three." 1️⃣ First time: Assume it's a miscommunication or a bad day.  2️⃣ Second time: Consider it a coincidence and address the issue.  3️⃣ Third time: Recognize it as a behavior pattern that needs direct attention. With this method, leaders can maintain clear communication, set expectations, and foster an environment of trust and accountability. 🎧 Discover more insights on fostering authentic leadership and building a growth-oriented culture. I tell everyone about the rule of three and it’s really helpful for management and fostering collaboration across teams as it helps with miscommunications. To apply the 'Rule of Three' in team management, focus on fostering an environment of clear communication and accountability. For example, when a team member repeats a behavior, address it progressively to understand if it's a one-off mistake, a coincidence, or a pattern. This approach helps in setting clear expectations and building trust, ensuring that issues are addressed before they become ingrained habits. Crucial Conversations ® is a little dated but also still one of my favorite books on how to have high stakes conversations.
