Weclad in the spotlight at Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) ! ✨ Last Friday, Weclad sponsored the “Paris learning expedition” of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH). The biggest event for players in the city and its densification. 🏙 In the morning, the 240 participants attended a fascinating keynote by Pierre-Yves Guice, CEO of Paris La Défense, on the ambition of the largest business district in Europe to become the world's first post-carbon district. This was followed by tours of the 11 sites contributing most to the architectural and sustainable transformation of Paris. 📷 Among them, 4 are clad with Weclad eco-responsible architectural façade solutions! ➡️ Aurore tower and Altiplano complex at La Défense (Kyotec - https://lnkd.in/e67Bwpw7) ➡️ Maestro tower in Saint-Denis (Rinaldi - https://lnkd.in/eYcH--tS) ➡️ Berlier residential tower in Paris (Techniwood - https://lnkd.in/ejewJjDU) Alongside the architects, the Weclad teams were able to highlight the design quality, technicality and durability of the façades designed and produced by our 580 experts. The day ended with one of the most beautiful views of the Eiffel Tower. Which has not yet chosen its new façades 😉 Many thanks to Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) for this wonderful showcase!

What makes the "2226" building so special? 🏅It was shortlisted in 2015 for the European Union Prize for Contemporary Architecture Mies van der Rohe Award; 🔋It is a low-tech building. The overall goal of the new office building “2226” was to use as little technology as possible, the motto being: “atmosphere instead of machine”; 🧱️The bricks serve as the optimal building material for this innovative project. They allow a stable and comfortable indoor climate; ♻️The design of the building is fully dedicated to climate solutions; 🌱The "2226" office building requires less energy and provides comfort thanks to its unique architecture. The construction is absolutely free of pollutants and non-hazardous. #NewEuropeanBauhaus #Ceramics4NEB Discover more 👉 ceramicsforbauhaus.eu

In Romania, there's this trend, that public open space has the supreme role of enhancing surrounding architecture. Proposing trees in Plazas and Squares hide the architectural, historical facades, their leaves are messy and people don't enjoy the sticky windshields, when parking their beloved cars in naturally shadowed parking bays. At the same time, we had the hottest summer in years, with almost 2 months of complete draught and temperatures exceeding 35°C, peaking at 44°C (this is the first time I experienced it). This is NOT how you achieve Happy, Healthy and Habituated Cities. #urbanregeneration #3HsPrinciple #sustainablepublicspaces #designforthefuture #healthycities #happycities #habitatsincities #sustainableurbandesign #landscapearchitecturereframed #tunedintonature #sustainablecities #urbantrees #treestrategy #biodiversotyhighways

Sustainability in precinct planning is more than Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) and trees. In our projects we will also always try to propose paths along topographical lines to reduce natural stresses, to retain all existing buildings, to insert new buildings into the damaged places, to set a framework for nature to regenerate, to educate visitors about natural systems, sustainable strategies and indigenous culture, to connect canopy across the precinct and beyond, to make walkable precincts at gradients of less than 1:21, to set building zones and envelopes to facilitate the best orientation for buildings for passive design...there’s more of course. To see one example of our work in precinct planning you can look to the Henley Precinct plan, feedback collection has been just been closed, but the documents for public exhibition are still available for viewing at https://lnkd.in/dEvW3xb9. Located on Wallumadegal Country, the Henley Precinct is an 8.6 hectare public space alongside the Parramatta River in Hunter's Hill Council. #urbanism #urbandesign #architecturensw #architecture #precinctplan #masterplan #community #culture

🌿 Exciting Project Update: Creating Sustainable Study Pavilions with Students! 🌿 I'm thrilled to share a recent project where I had the privilege of guiding students in designing and constructing a pavilion model. This innovative space serves as a dynamic study area, seamlessly blending indoor and outdoor environments while preserving the natural landscape. Our focus was on sustainability and integration with nature. The pavilion features: ■ Flexible Study Zones: Comfortable indoor spaces complemented by shaded outdoor areas, providing diverse study environments. ■ Nature Preservation: Careful planning to ensure minimal disruption to the existing flora, maintaining the natural beauty of the site. ■ Sustainable Materials: Use of eco-friendly materials, promoting environmental responsibility. #SustainableDesign #StudentProjects #Architecture #NaturePreservation #InnovationInEducation #GreenBuilding

Home is where t̶h̶e̶ ̶h̶e̶a̶r̶t̶ The Pulse is. And here at Zuidas, The Pulse beats with both heritage and innovation. The façade features double windows, forming peaceful loggia spaces that buffer city noise. Drawing inspiration from the Amsterdamse School architectural style, we've given the classic red brick a contemporary spin 🧱 Utilising the sustainable Meldorfer flat-faced brick, each layer wraps itself around the building like a skin and acts as an insulator while marrying traditional aesthetics with cutting-edge energy efficiency. Nature-Inspired Building: A Revolution in Modern Design In an era marked by environmental concerns and a growing appreciation for natural beauty, the concept of Nature-Inspired Building has taken center stage. A new book, The House of Green, beautifully showcases projects from around the world that exemplify this trend. These projects not only coexist with nature but thrive by integrating natural elements directly into their design, ranging from an "office farm" in Vietnam to rammed-earth villas in Costa Rica. The Philosophy Behind Building with Nature The pursuit of Nature-Inspired Building is deeply philosophical, moving beyond mere aesthetics to address the core interactions between human habitats and the environment... https://lnkd.in/g5P5RqDW

🌆 Understanding the Pulse of Frankfurt's Urban Landscape As designers of the era, we know that great architecture begins with a deep understanding of the city itself. The Frankfurt skyline, reflected on the Main River, offers more than just a striking view—it tells a story of growth, balance, and connection between nature and urban development. 🌍🏙️ Our approach is rooted in analyzing city dynamics. From the flow of the river to the rhythm of the skyline, we study how spaces interact, evolve, and shape the lives within them. By understanding these complex layers, we imagine projects that resonate with the city’s natural and cultural landscape, thinking spaces that feel organic, yet future-driven. Let’s continue to understand by working with their unique patterns, not just within them. #UrbanAnalysis #CityDynamics #Architecture #Frankfurt #LandscapeArchitecture #SustainableDesign #UrbanDevelopment #MainRiver #FutureCities #EAB
