The 2024 WeishFest lineup isn’t the only work of art! 🎨 Who saw local Chicago artist @raspyrivera in action at last year’s show? Raspy painted LIVE during the show and auctioned off the painting to raise money for @weish4ever . Thank you for Paying It Forward! Reminder to get your early bird tickets before they’re gone at www.weishfest.com! #WeishFest #Weish4Ever #Chicago

Who says video games can’t be art? This weekend, we’re sponsoring a charity event for #stjudes , and part of the charity event is an award show! For the award show, we put together small pieces of content like this one for games. The game seemingly looks like a plain cowboy game. Red Dead Redemption 2 tells a story of how a gunslinger may spend his last days, knowing his time is coming to an end. #RedDeadRedemption2 #videogameediting #videoediting #videography

Vital Arts exists to address the multifaceted challenges that artists face today, but we cannot do it alone. We need your support to continue this critical work. Your donation, whether $5, $50, or $500, helps more artists pay their rent without sacrificing meals. It supports city-wide policies that value artists, provides resources for arts professionals, and fosters mind-changing conversations with stakeholders. Bit by bit, we are building a thriving arts ecosystem. Bit by bit, we are improving conditions for every artist, arts worker, and resident with a system of care and a big-picture approach. Bit by bit, we are creating a world that truly values the arts as vital. https://lnkd.in/gpyYdcjk

UPDATE: This event has had to be postponed until Spring. Tickets will be honoured for the new date TBD or, will be refunded at your request. Please go to the web site for details This is not my event but I am happy to help spread the word about this organization and their event to aid victims of human trafficking. Please donate if you can and or can't attend. Q: What is the goal or purpose of the Gala? A: The purpose of this gala is to build a fund for Stage 1 housing, providing crucial support for survivors. Q: Why should I attend? A: Attending allows you to help victims transform into survivors and reclaim their lives. A: By purchasing a ticket and attending the event, you're helping bring us one step closer to giving a victim her freedom and helping her become a survivor. You'll also hear firsthand from a survivor mentee about what Rising Angels means to her. Q: What makes this gala different from others? A: This gala is not only informative but also a celebration of the journey from victim to survivor. You'll hear the inspiring story of Katarina MacLeod, who transitioned from victim to survivor and now serves as the Executive Director of Rising Angels, a globally recognized organization.

Co-Founder & CPO at SSG | Diversity & Inclusion Champion | Authentic Super Connector | Community Builder | Team leader who loves empowering can-do creative attitudes 🌈
TONIGHT AT 6:30 PM join us for an improvised version of PVP Circuit and help us rebuild our local community brick by brick. I still can't believe I get to work in the video game industry. My 6-year-old would laugh, and then cry once she realized what it means to work in the creative technology sector. That's why IMO everyone could use some levity during these unprecedented times. Join us for a fun evening to raise funds for the Trevor Project. Event link >>> https://lnkd.in/g7tBuP6d Frequently Asked Questions: What if I can't attend the event? - If you can't make it, please consider purchasing a ticket to help us raise money for charity or get one on behalf of someone impacted by layoffs. What if I want to join but can't justify the cost? - If you want to join but find the cost prohibitive, DM me and we'll make it happen (see point above). Do I have to pitch at the event? - No, you don't have to pitch if you prefer to observe. It’s a great way to see how it's done. Will there be another event like this? - We plan to host our community again, but I can't specify if this event will be the focus. #gamesindustry #event #comedy <3

If you can't attend please consider a donation. This 5 years journey needs to come to an end. Family stories need to be told. I am having a fun raiser (yes fun) for my film on the use of force "Resisting" at Tealee May 17, 18 and 19. The flyers are attached. The link will have all of the details as well. https://lnkd.in/g9VxSuMx We would love to see you at one of the events or if you can't make it please consider making a donation. Director donnie l. betts is approaching RESISTING with an unwavering commitment to truth-telling and giving voice to those who have been unseen and oppressed. With a deep understanding of the impact of over-policing as a Black male artist, betts sees this film as an extension of his lifelong dedication to sharing authentic stories that are often overlooked or silenced. In the spirit of accountability, the film ensures the voices of the protagonists and impacted communities are respected and accurately represented. Ultimately, RESISTING aspires to create a transformative and healing experience for audiences. By courageously exposing the failures of the system and inspiring collective action, the documentary aims to contribute to policy change, raise awareness, and foster empathy and understanding. It seeks to ignite a revolution of the human heart, leading to a more just and equitable society, liberated from the grip of over-policing. RESISTING stands as a testament to the power of storytelling and the potential of film to challenge societal norms and catalyze meaningful change. With wide-reaching free and trusted accessibility, public media paired with a planned robust impact campaign would be the perfect home for this film to galvanize audiences. The question is What does or can the future of policing look like?
