Every year, the Weld County Weed Division team works to prevent, suppress or eliminate noxious weeds along county roads, property and facilities. This is achieved by applying bare ground treatments around county facilities and communication towers to stop growth before it starts and by mowing, spraying, utilizing technology such as drones, and biological processes, such as the use of mites and Gall Wasps. Weed Landowner Specialists can also provide advice to residents on how to control growth on their property. In the last two years, these efforts have resulted in the Weed Division treating more than 2,000 acres of noxious weeds.
