Western Municipal Water District’s Post

Senate Bill 366 (Caballero) successfully passed with overwhelming support during the Assembly Water, Parks, and Wildlife Committee today and will now advance to its next hearing in the Assembly Appropriations Committee in August. This bill sets long-term water supply targets and mandates that state agencies, in cooperation with water agencies, wastewater service providers, and other stakeholders, develop comprehensive plans and milestones. SB 366 aims to drought-proof California's water supply and secure a sustainable future for cities, agriculture, industries, and the environment. Western Municipal Water District is proud to play a crucial role in this effort, actively collaborating with state agencies and other stakeholders to shape the bill's targets and implementation plans. Congratulations to all the agencies and stakeholders who worked on SB 366! Our collective efforts over the past several months have brought us to this point, and we will maintain this momentum throughout the summer. In addition, the Southern California News Group published an op-ed authored by Senator Caballero reinforcing the importance of SB 366 and establishing a water target.
