In my final reflection on the MERI PODCAST Summit, featuring Meried Bekele, this article delves into the essential role of HR in various companies, from small start-ups to large enterprises. HR's responsibilities span the employee journey, from recruitment strategy planning to talent development and exit management, shaping company culture, enhancing performance, and supporting talent. Breakdown of HR's functions at various stages:
1. Recruitment Planning: Collaborating with hiring managers to define role specifications, craft job descriptions, and design targeted recruitment strategies.
2. Sourcing: Actively seeking qualified candidates through platforms like job boards, social media, and networking events with a focus on diversity and inclusion.
3. Screening and Selection: Assessing resumes, conducting interviews, and evaluating candidates on alignment with organizational values and culture fit.

Last week we had a kickoff at Falkenberg Strandbad 🎉
It was SO fun!
I had a chance to get to know colleagues I don't see IRL often, like Janet Schouten-den Butter, who was my roommie (shout out to her in the Netherlands!).
After the kickoff, our HR team sent out a survey using Winningtemp to get anonymous feedback from everyone who attended.
Today, our CEO, Carl Axell and Head of HR, Sara Holmberg held a meeting to talk about what went well at the kickoff, what we can do better next time, and what everyone thought based on OUR feedback.
