Women in Credit Risk & Collections - Australia’s Post

"Even without his guns, my father would have always done horrific acts of violence" It can all feel overwhelming and too much sometimes. So what can a small network of women specialised in credit risk and collections do ? 1. Demand our employer have strong DV policies and know what they are 2. Support our staff, our friends, and our sisters. Remember that it is often more dangerous to leave, and it takes a lot of attempts, so please don't give up on someone who can't "just leave." Be kind, patient, and persistent. 3. Apply a lens of "safety by design" to all our originations and collections processes and policies 4. Reach out if you personally need help or want to know how to help someone you love

'We were ignored by five different male officers across three occasions of reporting. By that point we felt completely helpless. I did everything I could to protect my mother, and when my father couldn't find us he murdered her best friend and her best friend's daughter." If you haven't read this yet please do. Last week Ariel Bombara’s father murdered Jennifer and Gretl Petelczyc in Perth and then killed himself. While the act of violence itself was abhorrent and utterly inexplicable the absolute tragedy is that it WAS predictable. Ariel and her mother raised their concerns about him and guns with police. On multiple occasions. Those concerns were ignored. Ariel deserves answers. So does Liesl Petelczyc. We all do. 💔💔💔
