Just whole healthcare executive scaling health equity through field-defining business, policy and service integration strategy
Looking at race and ethnicity just when you measure patient experience is inadequate to drive health equity. It’s a cop out. And it overly shifts blame onto providers, absolving leaders of our broken systems. Here’s a perfect example courtesy of mega-firm Deloitte. They could’ve broken down for us access to different digital solutions and digital outcome care abouts by race and ethnicity. (Aka “techquity”). That would’ve been informative. Instead we see tired, well-known findings about poor experiences of care and maternal mortality. #maternalhealth #healthequity entails addressing structural barriers as much as barriers of discrimination in care. Including #healthcareinnovation typically underinvesting in population-specific digital tools. Don’t get me wrong - we as providers have a lot to work on. And those making money off surveys of patients and experts ought to strive for a fuller, systems-oriented, investment-highlighting picture.

HIGH Horizons, alongside the World Health Organization, has developed a conceptual framework for #ExtremeHeat and maternal, newborn and child health (MNCH). The conceptual framework aims to depict the direct (pathophysiological mechanisms) and indirect (individual, community and health services) pathways through which heat exposure can lead to adverse maternal, newborn and child health (MNCH) outcomes. The framework is intended to provide a broad understanding of extreme heat and MNCH. Find out more and download the framework👇 https://lnkd.in/e-_QrxeD
