Another illustration of Michelin's commitment and support to the local communities where it operates is Michelin Development. Over more than 30 years Michelin has worked to sustain a dynamic economical and social environment around its industrial sites. To achieve this is only possible if we listen to the needs of the local communities. Michelin Development is then able to help with developing taylor-made solutions to support new or growing businesses meeting local needs. It acts concretely as an in-house economic development agency. Over the course of the past 30 years this has represented a combined investment of more than 100 million euros (through bonified loans and grants) which helped support the creation of in excess of 41,000 jobs in SMEs in our local communities around the world (of which 30,000 in France). It may also happen that because of market conditions or other issues we have no other option but to close an operation. Michelin's support is also present then. Besides making sure that every single employee impacted finds a new job, Michelin also strives to ensure that a new future be possible for the industrial sites impacted, as well as helping the local communities recreate as many jobs as the ones lost because of the closure. Of course this takes time and can only succeed through close partnership with local communities and stakeholders. But it works! Alexander Law, Director for French public Affairs and for Michelin Development, shared our approach and work with the French and international media during the Media day last month. I attach one of the videos shared with the media . It illustrates the most recent projects we have led: the Cleantech Innovation Park in Bamberg (Germany), the Michelin Scotland Innovation Parc in Dundee (Scotland) or the Atinea project in La Roche sur Yon (France). And we are currently working on developing the same approach in Ardmore (Oklahoma, US). #Michelin Developpement #Michelin Scotland Innovation Parc #Cleantech Innovation Park #Atinea: Pôle d'innovation Mobilité & Energies décarbonées #Ardmore Development Authority #Alexander Law #Thomas Berthaud #Didier Gimel #Ana Domingues Guyon

I help leaders recognise their strengths and develop their leadership potential so they can confidently inspire greatness and success in their team. Coach, Trainer, Workshop Facilitator, Speaker for positive change
Modelling great leaders and their leadership traits is a great way to develop your own leadership skills. The visionary, Dr John Gladstones AO, a recognised agronomist whose work has had a profound impact on Western Australian agriculture and the development of the Margaret River wine region, is one such leader. See the article, below, to learn 6 of the Leadership traits that he embodied.
In celebrating Western Australia Day - WA Day - to commemorate the founding of the Swan River Colony in 1829, it can't go without acknowledgement of the passing of Dr John Gladstones AO and the impact he's made in establishig the Margaret River Wine Region. Dr Gladstones was a nationally and internationally recognised agronomist whose work has had a profound impact on Western Australian agriculture, our wine industry, in particular, and our community as a whole. As Vanya Cullen from Cullen Wines, Margaret River tributed: "Dr John Gladstones was a man of integrity and humility; a scientist and humanitarian to the core, curious about everything and always making enquiries about new ways. He gave so much to the Western Australian Wine Industry, never claiming anything other than to help and give and create the beginning of one of the world’s great wine growing regions…Margaret River.” Perhaps one the greatest tributes we might give Dr Gladstones as a region, is to model some of his leadership attributes: 🍇Have integrity - keep to your word and align in your thoughts, words and actions. 🍇Be a humanitarian - embrace human welfare and the welfare of your team and others, through kindness, support, understanding and empathy 🍇Be curious - seek to understand, before being understood. Relish the not-knowing and invite in learning and growth 🍇Be generous - give of your time, your attention, share your knowledge, teach, give value and uplift others. We gain more collectively from giving, than taking 🍇Create - be bold in your thinking, vision and imagination. Trust these yearnings and embrace the uncertainty and exhiliration that comes with taking the road not yet travelled. It can make all the difference. 🍇Collaborate - we may go faster alone, but we go further together. Share knowledge, encourage contribution, be open to learning from others and acknowledging their value. There's power in working together and leveraging and harnessing our invidivdual strengths, collectively Let's continue to live these attributes as leaders in our industry and continue the legacy of Dr John Gladstones. You'll be able to read more about Dr Gladstones contribution and tributes from other industry leaders in the link below: https://lnkd.in/gagWXFrD

Welcome to Once Upon Stina Lundqvist and happy B Corp month! Since it is B Corp month I would like to take the opportunity to spread the awareness of the THE DECLARATION OF INTERDEPENDENCE that we, by being a B Corp, have signed. ”We envision a global economy that uses business as a force for good. This economy is comprised of a new type of corporation – the B Corporation – which is purpose-driven and creates benefit for all stakeholders, not just shareholders. As Certified B Corporations and leaders of this emerging economy, we believe: * That we must be the change we seek in the world. * That all business ought to be conducted as if people and place mattered. * That, through their products, practices, and profits, businesses should aspire to do no harm and benefit all. To do so requires that we act with the understanding that we are each dependent upon another and thus responsible for each other and future generations.” This means Once Upon Publishing have committed to work towards changing the new norm of how the role of businesses in society is viewed. Being a B Corp company or not - this is a shift that we all can be part of!
It’s B Corp month! We’re so thrilled to be part of this movement, and as a perfect coincidence we’re also welcoming a new member to our sustainability crew. “For me, the B Corp certification reflects our commitment to high standards of social and environmental performance. It’s a tool for driving change inside and outside the business, striving to do better every day.” - Stina Lundqvist, our new Sustainability Manager Tell us a bit about you, Stina? I’m a nature lover living in the middle of Stockholm city. Enjoys skiing in the winter and dining out with friends on a sunny terrace in the spring, which is now approaching! My passion for sustainability really comes from my childhood. I grew up on the countryside near Skellefteå, surrounded by animals and nature. I learned quickly to appreciate nature and all it provides us - therefore recognizing the importance of preserving it. What gives Once Upon the honor to have you on board? The good reputation of Once Upon has been on my radar for years! Having previously worked at Systembolaget, a very value-driven company, it was crucial that my next job also shared these kind of sustainable values as a core of their operations. With that, Once Upon was a perfect fit – and on top of that the work culture and commitment to everything Once Upon do sealed the deal for me to jump at this opportunity! Interested in learning more about B Lab Nordics, Stina Lundqvist, or both? The more the merrier! https://lnkd.in/dtqqZchY

We're thrilled to share that our farm winery is now B Corp Certified, joining a vast community of corporations that use business as a force for good. Benjamin Bridge is the second winery in Canada and one of only 25 other wineries in the world to achieve this sustainability certification. If you are familiar with B Corp, you’ll know just how meaningful this certification is, and if not, learn more below. What does it mean to be a B Corp? B Corp Certification is a designation awarded to businesses that meet rigorous standards of ethical and sustainable practices in all aspects of their operations. This includes their treatment of employees, their impact on the environment, their supply chain practices, and their contributions to the community. The certification is holistic instead of focusing on a single aspect of business, centring accountability, transparency, and using business as a means to make a positive impact on the world.
