GP appointments exceed pre-pandemic levels In May 2024, GP teams delivered an incredible 30.5 million appointments, marking a 20.6% increase compared to May 2019, surpassing pre-pandemic figures by 5.2 million appointments. 98% GP practices in England has upgraded their phone systems to ensure expanded, never-engaged lines; and every GP practice offers face-to-face, telephone, and online consultations, providing patients the flexibility to choose what’s most convenient and clinically appropriate for them. Dr. Amand Doyle, National Director for Primary Care at NHS England, shared: “Millions more appointments are being delivered every month compared to before the pandemic thanks to GP teams. 🎁 The gift of a simple but effective idea for post-operative care 🎁 Just in time for the gift-giving season, we’re delighted to share an innovative idea from Dave Duffy, Consultant Orthopaedic surgeon at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust, who is transforming  post-operative follow-up care by using PKB to send personalised video messages to his patients. Easy to implement, he creates a short film briefing the patient on what’s happened, together with his guidance for their post-operative care. At the touch of a button the message is securely sent to them in their PKB health record, available to review whenever they like.
