Being brave doesn't mean never feeling scared. Saujani's insight teaches us that bravery isn't about being fearless; it's about having the courage to face our fears and uncertainties head-on, especially when we believe in something deeply. Her words encourage us to acknowledge our fears but not let them hold us back from pursuing what's important to us. As we encounter challenges in life and work, let's remember that true bravery lies in our ability to push past our fears and pursue our passions, even when it's hard. 🌟 "Don’t promise, just prove." 🌟 In the world of today, where words are plenty and actions are the true differentiator, this mantra holds more significance than ever. It's easy to make promises, but what truly matters is delivering on those promises and demonstrating your capabilities. At every step of our journey, whether personal or professional, let's strive to let our actions speak louder than words. Instead of merely talking about our goals and aspirations, let's roll up our sleeves, put in the hard work, and showcase tangible results. Authenticity shines through when we don't rely on empty assurances. By focusing on proving our worth through consistent effort, dedication, and innovation, we build a reputation that's built on a solid foundation of achievement. Let's challenge ourselves to be individuals of action, individuals who back up their claims with evidence of their accomplishments. When we embrace the philosophy of "don't promise, just prove," we not only inspire trust but also become catalysts for positive change in our spheres of influence. So, let's go out there and turn our ambitions into achievements. Let's let our success stories be the embodiment of our commitment. Remember, in a world of talk, it's the doers who leave an indelible mark. 🚀💪 #ProveYourself #ActionSpeaksLouder

The #YMCA Character Values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, and Responsibility are my foundation for how I lay my work. They are a values screen I use to make decisions. They are a source of grounding for me during difficult situations. They keep me on track when I'm tired, and they help me sleep at night knowing I worked my day with the kindness, truth, dignity, and diligence the world deserves from all of us. When I was recruited to join the Y nine years ago, it was the articulation of these values-- and the encouragement of a Y leader who embodied them-- that led me through my hesitations to step, as an outsider, into a Y leadership role. Over the coming weeks I will be offering some reflections on each of these Character Values; what they really mean to me, and how I see them embodied and lived by the people around me. In the meantime, thank you to everyone, whether a part of the Y or not, who approaches their work and life with the values of #Caring, #Honesty, #Respect, and #Responsibility. #characterdevelopment #values #leadershipdevelopment #causedriven #mindbodyspirit

Here are ten things that should be considered cool in 2024: 1) Practicing good manners by saying please and thank you. 2) Apologizing sincerely when you are wrong and acknowledging your mistakes. 3) Respecting others' time by being punctual. 4) Being attentive and listening without interrupting. 5) Showing kindness to strangers and treating everyone with respect. 6) Recognizing and admitting when you make a mistake or fail. 7) Pursuing and following your dreams passionately. 8) Being a mentor and supporting others in their growth and success. 9) Holding and opening doors for others as a gesture of thoughtfulness. 10) Avoiding the practice of ghosting, and instead, communicating openly and honestly with others.

Supporting others, especially when they don't recognize it, is one of the hardest paths we can walk. Yet, it's in these quiet moments that we uncover our true values. It's not about accolades or recognition; it's about making a real impact and staying genuine. Quietly risking your own safety to help someone else is the ultimate measure of character. Reflect on those long nights, the extra miles you went, the things you gave up. Perhaps no one will ever grasp the full extent of your journey, but you did it because it was important. It mattered to the people you were helping, even if they remained unaware. It mattered to the mission you held dear, even if the victories were small and unseen. Then, there comes a day when you look in the mirror and a wave of realization hits you: you did it. You endured the tough times, the unnoticed tasks, the silent battles. There's a deep satisfaction in knowing you did what was right, not for the praise, but because it needed to be done. So, keep fighting those hidden battles. Keep advancing, even when no one else sees. Because at the end of the day, the person staring back at you in the mirror will understand the full story. And that's what truly matters.

How would your children or family describe you to someone else? How would your peers and team members describe you? I believe there is value in pondering these questions. I think it helps us to establish what traits we need to work on so that we can leave the legacy that we want to be remembered by even when we aren’t here anymore. My children describe me as hard-working and fun-loving while putting an enormous value on integrity. They would tell you I believe perseverance is an often overlooked quality that makes us more of who we already are, not less. I see the Broussard name as something I am passing on. Above money, I want my daughter and son to be able to walk with a sense of pride, confident I am passing on a reputation they can build on! These convictions carry over from my personal life to my business. At Service First, our strong values allow our team to build and grow the traits that they want to be known for and remembered by. Who are you? Whom do you want to be? How do you want to be remembered? Sometimes we need to ask hard questions. Hard questions help us discover the answers that will create the best version of ourselves for today and all of the tomorrows. #servicefirstmtg #leadershiplessons #mortgageleadership

Life isn’t just about YOU! It’s about what you can leave behind as lessons for those that follow you for generations to come. It’s about sharing your life story with those around you, so that they can learn from your failures and mistakes. It’s about being vulnerable and approachable to others so that they can find connection and understand that they are not alone in this world with what they are going through. Everything you do, every action you take, every word you speak, will not only have an effect on your life, but will IMPACT everyone that comes into contact with you. Be a leader every single day, and leave a legacy that can never be forgotten.

Strategic advisor to senior level leaders on how to transform leadership, culture & business performance through digital marketing & social media | LinkedIn Top 1% for marketing & advertising since 2017
Great post from Andrea Petrone which provided an enlightening moment for me about the true essence of integrity: It's not just about keeping promises to others; it's deeper than that. It's about being true to ourselves, first and foremost. As a recovering perfectionist and total people-pleaser I often struggle with boundary-setting and if any promises are going to be broken, I will do my utmost to keep my promises to other people and kind of forget about the ones I've made to myself. This post really made me think because it highlights that integrity starts within us. It's about making a commitment to our own values, beliefs, and principles. When we give our word to ourselves, we set the stage for genuine honesty and authenticity in all aspects of our lives. This realisation is empowering because it reminds us that our moral compass isn't just for the world to see; it's for us to live by, even in our most private moments. By honouring our commitments to ourselves, we build a foundation of trust and respect within, which naturally extends to our interactions with others. This inner journey is the path towards more self-respect, more self-discipline, and true personal growth. #LeadershipDevelopment #LearningAndDevelopment #PersonalDevelopment #EmWilson #LeadershipSecrets
