Harouge Oil Operations has successfully increased production at the Farigh field to 1,600 barrels per day (bpd). 📈 This achievement is part of NOC's ongoing strategy to enhance production rates across its operations. 🌍 National Oil Corporation highlighted the efforts of the Petroleum Engineering Department at Harouge Oil Operations. 🛢️ The department successfully raised production from the AA-10 well in the Farigh field, located in the Amal concession, from an initial 250 bpd to 1,600 bpd. This significant increase is expected to rise further upon the completion of all necessary work on the well. The national oil company (NOC) of Algeria Sonatrach and Egyptian technical services company Petrojet have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) to explore the feasibility of establishing a joint venture (JV). The JV will specialize in the design and manufacturing of static pressure equipment - certified by the professional association of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers - for the oil industry and the provision of related services. The MoU was signed by Soantrach Chairman and CEO Rachid Hachichi and Petrojet Chairman and CEO Waleed Lotfy on August 5 and falls in line with the NOC's strategy to facilitate high-value-added partnerships aimed at the local manufacture of high-tech oil equipment. The MoU also falls within the framework of an October 2022 agreement between the Algerian Ministry of Energy and Mines and the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources to foster international partnerships. Wood Group has completed the first phase of engineering work on what is expected to be the world's largest carbon capture and sequestration hub. The oilfield services business is a major contractor on Aramco's Accelerated Carbon Capture and Sequestration (ACCS) project near Jubail, Saudi Arabia. It has designed the greenfield dehydration, compression facilities and a major pipeline network. By 2027, Aramaco wants the pipelines to transport 9 million tonnes of emissions per annum from its gas plant facilities and from third-party emitters before sequestering them within onshore geological storage. The state-owned energy giant, one of the most valuable publicly-traded companies, is seeking to store up to 14 million tonnes annually of CO2 equivalent by 2035. Libya’s state-owned Sirte Oil Company has been in discussions with US technology and engineering company Honeywell regarding the development of the Marsa El Brega refinery on the country’s eastern coast. It is understood that Honeywell will be presenting a study on the development of the refinery, with a view to increasing the refinery’s production capacity. Honeywell already has a strong footing in Libyan oil projects, having recently won the contract to develop a new refinery, known as ‘the South Refinery’, near the town of Ubari in Libya’s south-west. Honeywell will be collaborating with Libya’s National Oil Corporation (NOC) in the work on the South Refinery. The development of the Marsa El Brega refinery aligns closely with the NOC’s strategic plans for Libya’s oil output. The NOC aims to increase oil output in the country over the next three to five years, with the target of increasing production to approximately 2 million barrels per day by the end of that timeline. Aramco awards $3.3bn gas facility contracts to Sinopec and Tecnicas Reunidas In the city of Riyadh, 🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia, Saudi Arabian Oil Company aramco has recently entered into contractual agreements exceeding $3.3 billion with two prominent entities, namely the Chinese corporation Sinopec International Petroleum Service Corporation and Spain's Tecnicas Reunidas Saudi Arabia. These contracts pertain to the construction of a substantial gas facility within the Kingdom. A formal disclosure on the Spanish Stock Exchange has provided pertinent details about the distribution of ownership in this venture. As per the disclosed information, Sinopec is slated to hold a majority share of 65% in the project, while Tecnicas Reunidas is set to hold the remaining 35%. This collaboration encompasses the establishment of a novel facility named Riyas natural gas liquids, strategically located within the Jafurah unconventional gas production project in Saudi Arabia. Delving into the specifics of the contractual obligations, it becomes evident that the scope extends across crucial facets of the project's lifecycle. This includes, but is not limited to, engineering, procurement, and construction activities. Significantly, the contracts encompass the construction of liquefied natural gas (LNG) distillation facilities as an integral part of the Al-Riyas project. Furthermore, the agreements also encompass the establishment of gas storage facilities and the necessary infrastructure for the export of the processed natural gas. Aramco's official statement, as cited on its website, underscores the enormity of the Jafurah Gas Field, quantifying its estimated reserves at an astounding 200 trillion standard cubic feet of natural gas. This revelation solidifies the Jafurah Gas Field as the largest discovery of its kind in the Middle East. Saudi Aramco selects Chinese contractor for $12 billion gas project CPECC’s scope includes EPC work for the expansion of three booster stations along with the development of necessary support facilities. Saudi Aramco has chosen China Petroleum Engineering and Construction Company (CPECC) for a key contract involving the expansion of the kingdom's natural gas infrastructure. The state-owned heavyweight is said to have finalised winners for up to 15 engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) packages for the third expansion phase of the multibillion-dollar Master Gas System Network (MGS-3) development.
