“I’ve seen firsthand how AI is fundamentally reshaping every industry. When women represent only 15-34% of AI talent across experience levels, we're not just looking at a gender gap — we're looking at systematically excluding half our workforce from the future of work itself.” Read more about the important steps we must take to create a more inclusive AI workforce: https://lnkd.in/gAWDdMsC

I know the data comes from a survey of 25,000 people in 16 regions and yet.. "Technologists believe generative AI is turning into a whole new industry unto itself. But women haven’t been as eager as men to embrace it." or "Women are less likely to adopt this new technology." What does less eager or likely mean over here? Is it reluctance or fear that is being chosen by women in a "free market"? Are we saying interest in technology is gendered inherently by nature or gendered systemically by conditioning or both or none of the above? Are we creating or encouraging a misleading binary or perceived gap and catch-up here? To me it feels like there are better takes here but this of course is likely the 'catchiest', which is all the news. This part I understand (although pink collar is a new term for me): "Left unaddressed, this disparity could not only magnify gender imbalances in traditional “pink collar” occupations susceptible to automation, such as customer service, education and healthcare, but also limit opportunities for women in the occupations of the future."

Women in AI is an imperative not an option according to this article in Time which offers great advice on how women can use AI tools to advance their career and skill set. But we need more women involved in designing AI. “Who better to identify and correct gender bias in AI systems than those who have spent their lives recognizing and fighting it in human systems? Who better to ensure AI tools respect and protect women's privacy and dignity than those who have long fought for these basic rights? The solution to biased AI is not to abandon the technology but to flood it with women's perspectives, experiences, and values.” #womenandAI #genderbias #womenintheworkplace https://lnkd.in/grDYSVCV

Empowering Women in AI Engineering 🚀 The latest World Economic Forum report reveals that female representation in AI engineering has doubled since 2016 but still stands at a mere 0.20%. This underscores a pressing need for more women to enter and lead in the AI field. https://lnkd.in/dgFQ8YaQ Recent incidents, like the AI-manipulated image of a female politician, highlight the importance of diverse perspectives in tech development. As Silja Baller from the WEF rightly points out, “There should be equal opportunity to contribute to designing our future.” We should collectively recognize the critical role of diverse voices in shaping AI in Tech Industry and foster an inclusive environment that supports and encourages women in tech roles. By ensuring women are at the forefront of AI development, we can build more equitable and innovative solutions that benefit everyone. Together, let's drive change and make the tech industry a place where all talents can thrive. 💡 #AI #GenderEquality #STEM #Diversity #Inclusion #WomenInTech #FutureOfWork #TechInnovation 🌐

Research shows 75% of knowledge workers already use generative AI. However, women are more likely to be in jobs AI will disrupt and less likely to benefit from AI-driven roles. Leaders must act now to ensure an equitable future where women thrive in the AI era. Hear from Anne-Marie Slaughter (CEO at New America), Sue Duke (VP Global Public Policy & Economic Graph at LinkedIn), and Aneesh Raman (VP and Workforce Expert at LinkedIn) on steps to create a more equitable future for women in the AI-driven workplace: https://lnkd.in/eUGGQ75e

'What Happens if the Future of AI isn't Female?' AI is the fastest-growing sector in the history of mankind. By some estimates, AI will account for more than $2 trillion of our economy just in the next few years alone. However, today, under 18% of software developers in the AI space are women and so the development and application of this new AI world is predominantly in the hands of men. And, historically when products and services were made by men, they were designed with men in mind. Our workplaces, our products, our services, our technology, our roles in society, and much more, have been predominantly male-oriented and naturally did not directly address or reflect the specific needs of women. That reality led to the creation of several significant societal gaps. Join us on October 16th for an insightful webinar, 'What happens if the future of AI isn't female?' In this thought-provoking session, we'll explore some of the most pressing issues in the world of technology today, including: How to close the gender gap in STEM. What it means for organizations and society if women are excluded from the rapidly growing field of AI. And much more. Our speakers will discuss actionable strategies to prevent gender bias in AI and share their vision for fixing technology to ensure more women rise to leadership positions. Rebecca Tierney and Sara Sanford from AdaMarie and Shubhi Rao from Uplevyl.
