Venture Global has selected Worley as the EPC Contractor for the Big Louisiana LNG Terminal Project. The contractor has not shared the contract's price, but Venture Global has said it expects to spend more than $10 billion total on CP2 and its first Calcasieu Pass project. The plan calls for constructing an LNG export terminal with a capacity of 20 million metric tons per year on a 546-acre site in Cameron Parish (LA), adjacent to Venture Global’s first Calcasieu Pass terminal, which began some limited operation last year. The new facility, at full operation, is planned to include 18 LNG blocks for liquefying natural gas. The approved expansion of Sempra's Port Arthur project would double its capacity, with final investment decision targeted for next year. Venture Global had a request granted to raise capacity at its Calcasieu Pass LNG project, while the Venice Expansion Project - which will deliver gas to the company's Plaquemines facility - also got the go-ahead. 🇩🇪 Germany to Have First Onshore LNG Terminal by 2027 The construction of Germany's first onshore terminal to regasify liquefied natural gas has begun. The facility, with an annual capacity of 13.3 billion cubic meters, is expected to be operational by 2027, according to project developer Hanseatic Energy Hub. The terminal will be located on the Elbe River, near Hamburg, and will include two reservoirs of 240 thousand cubic meters each, making them the largest in Europe. The first clients of the terminal are already confirmed: German companies EnBW and SEFE, which have booked capacities of 4 and 6 billion cubic meters, respectively. Another 2 billion cubic meters is claimed by Czech company CEZ. Total investments in the terminal are estimated at about 1.6 billion euros, with 1 billion euros directly allocated for construction. #Germany #LNG

LNG infrastructure developer and operator Scale Gas – a spin-off company under the Enagás Group – has chosen Nantong CIMC Sinopacific Offshore & Engineering (CIMC SOE) for a newbuild LNG bunkering vessel. LNG infrastructure, including bunkering vessels, can be used to supply bio-LNG and in the future renewable synthetic e-LNG too. The number of LNG bunkering vessels has grown from 40 at the end of 2022 to 50 with a further 34 on order or under discussion. Establishing and scaling up production and supply infrastructure is a key barrier for alternative fuels. With LNG as an established and commoditised marine fuel, the LNG pathway has a head start on infrastructure – and even better, infrastructure is established along existing trade routes.
