More proof that the U.S. Postal Inspection Service is more concerned with their precious image than actually serving the American, stamp-buying public that pays their highly lucrative salaries and benefits. What other federal law enforcement agency could possibly be dumb enough to claim to be involved in surge operations to combat mail theft--only then to announce to criminals that they've ended said surge operations and moved on to God-knows what else? Answer: The same agency that announced to the American public that their own uniformed postal police are powerless to arrest mail thieves. The people running USPIS are, quite simply, morons. PS. They may claim 14 arrests, but they did not effect 14 arrests. PSS. 14 arrests is not at all impressive--it's fishing in a stocked barrel. PSSS. How long until the USPIS media machine churns out one of their legendary, highly-contrived, high-cost videos depicting postal inspectors rappelling from helicopters to arrest mail thieves in the act? How Do We Prevent Violence in Public Transit Spaces While Ensuring the Safety and Trust of Commuters? A tragic shooting at a Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) Blue Line train station in Forest Park, Illinois, left four people dead early Monday morning. Authorities have since apprehended a suspect, but the incident has raised serious concerns about safety on public transit. The Forest Park Police Department responded to a 911 call around 5:30 a.m., reporting that three people had been shot on a westbound train at the CTA Blue Line station. Upon clearing the station, police discovered four victims, three of whom were pronounced dead on the scene. The fourth victim died later at Loyola University Medical Center. Using video surveillance, police and CTA security were able to identify the suspect, who was later apprehended on a CTA Pink Line train by the Chicago Police Department.
