MONKEY POX??? MPOX??? HOW DID HUMANS GET IT??? Western media often fail to tell us the full story of how the wars sponsored by outside interests have devastated Central Africa and are making the public health situation there so dangerous. For example, desperate refugees from conflicts there can be forced by hunger to eat poorly cooked wild animal meat. Diseases then cross from animals to humans. The spread of MPox, Ebola, and other diseases are then made worse, just because Africa's resources are being stolen on behalf of foreign companies by armed militias and warlords. https://lnkd.in/e-TsVu3U

🚨 Breaking News: Kenya has confirmed its first case of Mpox at the Taita Taveta border post with Tanzania. The virus was detected in a traveler passing through Kenya from Uganda to Rwanda. As we face this new health challenge, it's crucial to remain vigilant. Protect yourself by washing your hands thoroughly with soap and water or using an alcohol-based hand sanitiser. Additionally, we should also control mice and rats in our premises by investing in good rat control solutions like a rat bait box, as rats are known carriers of diseases. Let's work together to keep our communities safe. #MpoxAlert #StaySafeKenya #HealthFirst #RatControl #DiseasePrevention

Urgent Health Alert: Alarming Increase in Legionellosis Fatalities Across the Baltic Region In a concerning trend, Lithuania has recorded 16 cases of legionellosis and three deaths within just the first four months of this year. This follows a significant outbreak last spring in Kaunas, where more than two dozen cases resulted in seven fatalities. https://bit.ly/3V0Huue Notably, neighbouring countries Poland and Latvia have also experienced significant outbreaks in the past two years, with case fatality rates (CFRs) alarmingly higher than the global average. Poland reported a CFR over 14%, while Latvia saw a rate surpassing 18%, similar to Lithuania's recent figures. These incidents underscore the urgent necessity for rigorous infrastructure management and proactive public health strategies. It is imperative for facilities to regularly inspect and maintain water systems to prevent Legionella proliferation. As public health professionals and stakeholders in infrastructure safety, we must respond decisively to these alarming statistics. This involves a collaborative effort among nations to adopt and enforce stricter safety standards. Don't just be compliant, be safer. Let's unite in strengthening our public health defences against Legionellosis. By taking proactive steps now, we can safeguard communities across the Baltic region and beyond, preventing further tragic losses to this preventable disease. Gastroenteritis (GE) and cholera-like diarrhea outbreaks have been sporadically spreading in IDP camps since February 2024. Tragically, over 80 children have died in Sittwe, Rakhine in April. Cases are reported from Karenni, Kachin, Rakhine and Chin. The situation hasn't received enough attention until cases began rising in Yangon. Poor sanitation, limited access to clean water, seasonal flooding, and overcrowding in IDP camps, coupled with ongoing wars, are exacerbating the situation. Medicine struggles to reach the camps, often being intercepted and confiscated before delivery. https://lnkd.in/geAJbUvB
