https://lnkd.in/gerrZy8y Africa is projected to be impacted significantly more than other parts of the world. It is also a region with the least capacity to adapt to the impacts of climate change and contributes less than four percent of global greenhouse gas emissions (GHGs) (Global Carbon Budget, 2022).

Slow clap, Scotland. This will ultimately set a precedent for other countries to follow suit if they find the challenge of climate mitigation too challenging. Surely, our month-on-month record-breaking temperature/rainfall data is enough to demonstrate that we must act urgently to abate emissions, as the writing is on the wall that our climate is changing before our very eyes. The future citizens of Scotland and the UK are depending on strong, coordinated climate leadership to prevent the catastrophic tipping points we will inevitably encounter if we continue to do nothing. #climatechange #climateemergency #scotland

First time in Africa, first time in Nairobi, first time at the IEA conference, but not my first time discussing how energy efficiency is a key lever for fighting climate change. Looking forward to many great dialogues and conversations about the water-energy nexus and how solving water is a key part of the climate change agenda. #proudtobegrundfos

Director Means of Implementation Division @ UN Climate Change | Climate Finance, Capacity Building and Technology
#Communities and #districts are taking the lead in assessing their needs and selecting their priority #climate interventions. While many are speaking about #scaling up climate #finance, here is one proven model.... The Government of #Uganda has created a dedicated #climate window in its intergovernmental #fiscal transfer #system so not only the people of #Nebbi will benefit but also those of #Nwoya, #Kasese, #Zombo, #Nakapripirit, #Bulambuli, #Kitgum and #Nabilatuk. As more resources are mobilised, this #systemic and #scaleable approach will allow to gradually expand towards covering an increased number of the 135 districts of Uganda. #Belgium, #EU, #Denmark, #Sweden are supporting Uganda in this journey...
🗣️ "As adaptation to climate change is inherently local, it is essential that climate finance and related support reach the most vulnerable communities of Uganda as directly as possible while supporting accountability,” said Sophie De Coninck, Global Climate Facility Manager. 🟩 More: https://uncdf.link/saving
