It was nice to participate in the Catalyzing Riverfronts for City Activation webinar hosted by SPUR. It highlighted the #riverfront revitalization project in #Detroit, which mixed urban practices and community engagement as part of the city’s long process of recovering from years of urban and economic issues. 🚨 Important Update! 🚨 Earlier this week, the Charlotte City Council approved the Compact Development provision, a key step towards addressing the need for entry-level and workforce housing. This amendment allows for higher density developments in certain areas of the city. Over the summer, they'll discuss strategies to increase townhome developments, with another text amendment expected this fall. Stay informed about the City's Alignment Rezoning process! The idea is to reflect on the state of our towns and cities and the basic right of all to adequate shelter. It is also intended to remind the world of its collective responsibility for the future of the human habitat." For the rapid growth rate of development we're facing here in the Niagara Region, it's especially important to provide AFFORDABLE housing.
