CEO at ThreeSixtyEight, a B Corp | Creative Agency for Organizations Shaping the Future of Learning | Helping BTR become the Creative Capital of the South @ Assembly Required l Advocate for Unconventional Talent
Excited to share something truly close to our hearts at ThreeSixtyEight! 🌟 Over the last few months, we’ve teamed up with the Baton Rouge Area Chamber and Visit Baton Rouge to build the "Better in BTR" campaign—a campaign initiative aimed at showcasing why Baton Rouge is a prime destination for young professionals to call home. Last Thursday, we got to watch the campaign go officially live in front of hundreds of people at the Better in BTR launch party. The energy of the crowd will be a moment I’ll never forget as I felt the pride of our city come together. We were proud because we now have a shared answer to a question we’ve been asked frequently by others and even to ourselves … Why live in Baton Rouge? We know that home is more than just a place with numerous employment opportunities—it's about quality of life. That’s why our campaign goes beyond showcasing top employers; it also highlights the unique and diverse communities, neighborhoods, and recreational activities Baton Rouge offers. What truly sets our city apart, however, is the sense of belonging instilled by our community. Those who move here and choose to stay quickly discover how deeply they can connect and how difficult it becomes ever to leave. For the last two years, I’ve sent out a Google doc to hundreds of people with all the communities to join, people to meet, and things to do. Now, I’m so proud there’s a resource that can be shared by all that showcases what makes our city great. We can now answer with confidence - THIS is why we live in Baton Rouge. Check out the campaign site here: www.betterinbtr.com Use the site to explore our city. Use the site to find the right neighborhood for you. Share the site with others mulling if they should move here. Share the site with others who think BTR has nothing to do. Share the site with others looking for communities to join. If anything, come talk to me about BTR. Yes, we have some issues like other cities have, but this is a city I know YOU can make a difference in. My physical and digital door is always open to have this discussion. And yes, this is only the beginning of the campaign. If you have any stories about why your life is better in BTR, please share them in the comments! #talentattraction #talent #batonrouge #betterinbtr #economicdevelopment

From the "Paths of Opportunity: What It Will Take for All Young People to Thrive," here are some outstanding stats: - Only 3 in 10 young people experiencing poverty earn a living wage by age 30. - Strong academic outcomes raise the odds of earning a living wage to 6 in 10. - Improving academics alone can’t level the playing field. What's missing is you! Where are partnerships in providing internships, workforce development, STEAM support, and financial literacy skills? Step up! Our students need you! 🎯 The Sport Innovation Research Group at Swinburne University are hosting a free interactive workshop on Wednesday, the 23rd of October, as part of Sports Innovation Week, will dive into how technology can help combat discrimination and hate in community sports. 🎾 We will introduce a project that co-creates policy templates and develops a supportive Large Language Model (LLM) to streamline anti-discrimination efforts. This tool is designed to standardise responses, enhance decision-making, and alleviate the workload for volunteers—making it a game-changer for inclusivity in sport. We have seen a heard of an increase in incidents involving discrimination in sport - and often volunteers do not feel equipped on how to respond, what the relevant policies are, and relevant actions. 🏉Whether you're involved in policy at a high level or work at the grassroots, this is an opportunity to help shape solutions that could transform community sports and set new standards for inclusion. 🏓 I encourage anyone with an interest in this space to attend, contribute to the conversation, and be a part of this journey. Registration is free and more information 🤘TLDR: we are developing a research project which uses AI and a large language model to help volunteers respond to discrimination in sport. Come help us shape the project and learn how AI can be leveraged to help volunteers respond to discrimination in sport. ➡ Date: Wednesday, 23rd October ➡ Time: 1-3 PM ➡ Event link: Strengthening Volunteer Capacities Workshop
