Reflecting on an incredible journey! 📸✨ Since December 2023, I've had the privilege of being one of 10 undergraduate students participating in the Photovoice project, led by SFU Library's Student Learning Commons (SLC) and supported by SFU Public Square. Through this project, we captured our daily lives and experiences as university students through the lens of photography, with each photo becoming a symbol of our thoughts, feelings, strengths, challenges, hopes, and fears around the concept of 'academic success.' The process wasn't just about snapping pictures; it involved deep reflection and engaging discussions within our cohort. We had monthly meetings and together explored questions like: 📌 What does academic success truly mean to us? 📌 How does it feel for us to achieve/not achieve academic success? 📌 What are the pressures and challenges that impact our academic journey? 📌 What kind of support do we need to thrive? 📌 How can we redefine academic success to align with our aspirations? Through these discussions and visual narratives, I gained insights into my fellow participants' unique experiences of time as students, which often go unnoticed. This project has also inspired me to approach photography differently, recognizing the depth of meaning even in seemingly 'simple' images. This experience emphasized the value of art-based methods in understanding and articulating our stories. I'm grateful for the opportunity to be part of this project because it not only amplifies student voices but also paves the way for meaningful change in how we approach 'academic success'. Photovoice is currently exhibited: 🏫 In person: 3rd floor in SFU Bennett Library (Burnaby) 🌐 Online: https://lnkd.in/gUckaMWu Everyone is invited to get engaged with the project as well! KDU students created illustrations for the manual "Ivano-Frankivsk: pages of history" Lilia Lopatynska and Maria Lukach, students of King Danylo University, majoring in 022 Design, became the authors of the illustrations for the study guide "Ivano-Frankivsk: pages of history". The developers implemented this project under the auspices of Ivan Hrebenyuk, a lecturer at the Department of Design. Such a historical guide was developed by female students on the order of the Department of Education and Science of the Ivano-Frankivsk City Council. It will be used in the city's schools in history lessons. According to the idea of the authors, the book contains 34 contour black-and-white illustrations that convey the spirit of the past and emphasize the importance of the history of Ivano-Frankivsk. Each coloring page is accompanied by a short historical reference, which will allow schoolchildren not only to express themselves creatively, but also to learn more about architectural monuments, prominent figures and the lives of local residents who shaped the history of the city. By the way, for the work done, the department recommended considering Liliya Lopatynska and Maria Lukacs as candidates for the mayor's scholarship "100 successful students in 2025". "The implementation of this project is a vivid example of how design students can apply the acquired knowledge in practice, improve their skills and abilities and get first professional experience. In particular, cooperation with real customers helps students learn more about market requirements and understand what it's like to work in a team and effectively implement ideas," said project coordinator, KDU lecturer Ivan Grebenyuk. #educationukraine #KDU #KingDanyloUniversity #studentsofKDU #design

MKSK is excited to be part of the multidisciplinary team designing Xavier University’s new College of Osteopathic Medicine. The nearly $110 million building was designed by architects The S/L/A/M Collaborative (SLAM) and MSA Design, with construction to be completed by Messer Construction Co. Features include a simulation hospital, a lecture hall, a meeting hall, and a teaching kitchen available as a gathering space for students. This major program facility will have a presence on Dana Avenue and continue campus development to the east. Outdoor program to include an Activity Terrace for student/faculty gathering, Main Entry space, limited faculty parking and accommodation of the extended Wasson Way Trail connecting to and through campus. Construction is set to be completed in 2026 and the college plans to accept their first class in the fall of 2027. Cheating is one of major problems in the universities. In many cases the restrictions can be weak or the students may use new or advanced methods. it is sad that cheating has established itself in many universities as an accepted tradition or because the university can not challange the new technologies. In architecture we can find cheating in students design projects too. The worst moment is grading such exams and design projects. It is so hard to convince the cheaters to give up. In some cases the professor himself can be blamed for being hard with the students.

NBBJ Design’s Westmark School is Designed for Learning Differences. The global firm’s Los Angeles–based studio worked with landscape architects SWA to create an education space dedicated to both physical and emotional well-being. The lower school campus of the Westmark School, a private academy in Encino, California, dedicated to supporting students with learning differences, is a model for charting a new direction. Not just for educational architecture, but for any type of building. Embracing research in neuroscience, education, and architecture, the facility addresses learning challenges from top to bottom, from incorporating nature and natural materials to encouraging multi-sensory learning to limiting stressors like excess noise and clutter. https://lnkd.in/eqz8ApSP

Join me as I present my thesis on Transformable Spaces for Narrative-Centered Learning Environments at NCA Degree show. I am excited to announce the completion of my MPhil in Interior Design from the National College of Arts! The story of my thesis is one of possibility and reinvention. My journey led me to explore the idea of narrative-centered learning environments, where stories, both literal and metaphorical, shape how students interact with their surroundings. But the question remained—how could these spaces also be flexible and adaptable, changing throughout the day to support diverse activities like storytelling, collaboration, individual reflection, and hands-on projects? This question became the cornerstone of my research. Inspired by modularity and the transformative potential of space, I envisioned learning environments as living, breathing entities—spaces that adapt to the rhythm of the day and the stories unfolding within them. . . . . #interiordesign #mphil #thesis #degreeshow
