We’re proud to see our team at the Children, Cities & Climate Action Lab (CCC) working hand in hand with young people to address the impacts of climate change and air pollution. The work done in Lagos and Nairobi to co-create advocacy campaigns is a perfect example of how youth need to be front and center to drive meaningful change. In the wake of #InternationalYouthDay on the 12 August, it's key to focus on the disproportionate impacts of climate change on youth and the need to create youth-led advocacy campaigns to meaningfully address climate hazards for young people. It's been a pleasure to lead the Children, Cities & Climate Action Lab (CCC) as technical lead for YLabs. The CCC Action Lab aims to identify and support the implementation of solutions that decarbonise cities and improve the health of children and young people worldwide. As part of this work, earlier this year, the CCC brought together 47 young people across two workshops hosted in Lagos and Nairobi to co-create climate advocacy campaigns in their cities to tackle air pollution. Findings from initial Action Labs in Nairobi and Lagos in Feb 2024 can be found here: https://lnkd.in/eGVtSqfM #airpollution #climatechange
