We started in June and in the months since have kept going strong, so Youth Outlook is excited to announce the extension of our Bolingbrook summer pop up. The Bolingbrook Drop-in Center will remain open through November! LGBTQ+ youth and allies ages 12-20 can join us on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month from 6:30-9:00pm for a safe and welcoming space to learn and grow together. According to The Trevor Project, LGBTQ+ youth are at risk because of a lack of acceptance, understanding, empathy, and compassion. That lack comes at a great cost: a national survey conducted in 2023 found 41% of LGBTQ+ youth have seriously considered suicide in the last year.
