📣 We’re thrilled to release our latest case study, highlighting how the College of Charleston leveraged Clyde, their AI-powered chatbot, to transform student support and retention. Through a proactive persistence check-in, Clyde identified and addressed hidden barriers like financial distress and housing insecurity, helping CofC re-enroll 111 students. This approach has not only improved persistence rates but also fostered a stronger, more connected campus community. Special thanks to Chris Korey and his team at CofC for their commitment to student success and for sharing their experience with Clyde’s transformative impact. Their insights showcase the effectiveness of AI-driven communication in identifying at-risk students and providing personalized support, leading to significant improvements in student engagement and retention. 🌟 Explore the full case study here → https://lnkd.in/e6aiX5Yn

💡 Brilliant publication alert! 💡 The third cohort of #TexasPathways Community College Research Fellows spent the last year working on projects to understand student success practices and experiences in different contexts. I'm excited to share their work! First up is Kristy Urbick, Ed.D. from Del Mar College. Dr. Urbick, with support from her mentor Stacy Ybarra, Ed.D., analyzed all the credential maps submitted by Texas Pathways colleges to develop a credential map typology. She then conducted student focus groups to collect student perceptions of the utility of different types of credential maps. Read her report and recommendations for credential mapping here! https://lnkd.in/e_PMejpW #studentsuccess #stackablecredentials #studentvoice #communitycollege #credentialmapping

"Perception can be just as critical to a student not enrolling as reality.” ~ Jinann Bitar, EdTrust in the The Chronicle of Higher Education on why the top barrier to college is most often affordability. The perception of your college and the value of a degree are shaped by the people around you, in-person and online. Social intelligence uncovers the online voices of your key stakeholders to strategic decisions for your campus and close the perception gap. Our research on public trust found that almost half of the public believes there are significant caveats to deciding whether or not to go to college, including considering the ROI of their major. Get the research and strategies for how leaders can rebuild trust and impact perception. https://hubs.li/Q02-pwVw0

Is research being outpaced by #ai and other #edtech innovations? Would targetted funding for rapid research help? check out this Congressional briefing!
If you missed our briefing yesterday on education R&D, this Education Week recap by Sarah D. Sparks sums it up nicely. Classroom tools and technology are changing too fast for traditional research to keep up without significant support to identify best practices and get them into the classroom. Many thanks to those who attended to hear Sara Schapiro of the Federation of American Scientists, and others from EdTrust, Lincoln University, the Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE), and ISTE. Special shoutout to Melissa Moritz and Timothy Michalak for helping put together a great day of conversation! #k12 #research #edtech #education https://lnkd.in/gCp7iEFH

Thank you to our partners at Alamo Colleges District for the opportunity to look at their impactful Transfer Compact! They have done a great job improving student outcomes through strong transfer relationships. -In 2020, ACD Compact students who had no excess credit hours collectively saved up to $374 million on tuition costs. Among those who followed a Seamless Transfer Pathway, students who transferred to a public university saved an average of $40,215 and those who transferred to a private university saved an average of $54,435. -Alamo Colleges District students who transferred to Compact schools graduated at significantly higher rates than those who had transferred to schools not participating in the Compact. Across all race/ethnicities, students at Compact institutions graduated at higher rates compared to students at non-Compact institutions, and this was especially pronounced for Black and Hispanic students. -On average, students who earned a bachelor’s degree from a Compact school spent less time at the Compact institution than those who earned a bachelor’s degree from a non-Compact institution.
New Spotlight Research Brief by Trellis Strategies! We're excited to share our latest research brief, authored by Carla Fletcher, highlighting the South Central Transfer Compact. Established in 2015 by the Alamo Colleges District in partnership with Texas A&M University and Austin Community College, the Compact creates more efficient pathways for community college students transferring to four-year institutions. Discover how this initiative has helped thousands of students achieve their academic goals. Download the brief today: https://lnkd.in/gqt3cerx #TransferStudents #HigherEd #StudentSuccess #Research
