This was a brilliant webinar organised by Steph H! Well worth a watch for any existing or future leaders. This webinar was super important for a number of reasons... But perhaps most importantly because you can't be what you cant see. Providing fantastic queer role models for gen-Z looking to get into the workplace can (and will) help them to thrive and smash the misconception that young queers can't lead in business. #Lgbt #leadership
Yesterday we had the pleasure of hearing from Aisha Shaibu-Lenoir from Moonlight Experiences, UK Black Pride, The Common Press, and GiveOut, about her fantastic journey into leadership & management! Aisha spoke about her personal journey as a queer leader, as well as what you need to become a good leader. We also had some brilliant audience questions. This webinar was made possible by The National Lottery Community Fund. ✨ Don't worry if you missed the webinar because you can catch up on this one, and any of our other sessions such as CV and Interview skills with Daryl Doyle Assoc.CIPD 🏳️🌈, on our Youtube channel: https://lnkd.in/e3Z-c57Q ✨

Reflecting on Juneteenth: A Call to Learn, Act, and Unite 🌟📘 Today, as we mark Juneteenth, we're reminded of its profound significance in American history. Juneteenth isn't just about commemorating the end of slavery—it's about understanding the ongoing struggle for racial justice and the importance of cultural heritage. This day is pivotal as it highlights the delayed freedom of enslaved people in Texas despite the Emancipation Proclamation being enacted years earlier. It serves as a crucial lesson in the persistence of injustice and the resilience required to overcome it. As leaders and changemakers, we're tasked with the responsibility to foster an environment of inclusivity and understanding in every sphere we influence. As a coach committed to leadership development and organizational change, I view Juneteenth as a critical moment for reflection and action. It's an opportunity to reassess our roles in promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion within our teams and communities. Today, let’s commit to not only educating ourselves but also to implementing practices that uphold these values every day. How are you observing this significant day in your professional and personal life? Let’s discuss actionable steps we can take to honor this day and make a lasting impact. Your thoughts and insights are invaluable as we continue this journey together. #Juneteenth #LeadershipForChange #DiversityAndInclusion #ReflectActUnite

I loved hosting Queensway's International Women's Day panel discussion yesterday with panellists Vanessa Hall, Nick Pilbeam and Lucy Soper MCIPD as we talked about empathetic leadership and inspiring inclusion. It's invigorating to be part of a company's conversation about how to make the workplace a more supportive place to be. Imagine if every organisation took the time to inspire people to be more empathetic in their every day? Apart from the obvious and most important factor that staff feel seen and heard and are therefore, happier, it's also proven that it improves retention and results. Key takeaways: Be yourself Ask for feedback - and be prepared to hear it Remember that empathy and compassion is your superpower I really enjoy doing panel moderation so if you're looking for someone to ask the questions at your next event, do get in touch! #empathy #leadership #paneldiscussion #corporatewellness
Yesterday at Queensway, we celebrated International Women’s Day and the theme of ‘Inspiring inclusion’, where we discussed authentic and empathic leadership. We wanted to give a special thank you to our keynote speaker Kellie Nedelcoux (Hick), who brought to life the power of being authentic by sharing her personal story and some practical tips on how you can bring empathy and compassion into the workplace. This was followed by an inspiring panel discussion led by Lallie Fraser, who created the space for the panellists to bring their own experiences of empathy in the workplace to life. A huge thank you to each of our panellists; Vanessa Hall, Nick Pilbeam and Lucy Soper MCIPD. #inspiringinclusion #iwd2024

Scale Your Impact and Income w/o Sacrificing Your Sanity ⭐️ Business Growth Strategist for Coaches 🌱 Scalable Genius Method™ 🎙️ Podcaster 🤝 Co-Founder GEM Networking Community
The biggest mistake coaches and consultants make when growing a community around their brand is something they DON’T do rather than what they do. This mistake is the fastest way to lose the trust of those you’ve worked hard to attract. Simply put, the mistake is: *** A lack of leadership *** One of the main ways this manifests is by failing to set and maintain clear guidelines and values in the community. This goes beyond defending against the usual self-promoters, though that’s a good start. I recently discussed this in a roundtable discussion with Nina Froriep, M. Shannon Hernandez, and Sophie Lechner (BTW, ask Sophie about her new book outlining her framework for authentically attracting clients on LinkedIn). What are things you do or appreciate seeing done in communities to demonstrate quality leadership that preserves the community ethos for the benefit of all?

Gender equity isn't a women's issue. Early on in our research for Powrsuit, the most common question we faced was 'what about the men?' Yes - some of these questions came from people who didn't like the 'exclusiveness' of leadership development for women, but many came from those who believe we all play a part. The underutilisation of women in the workforce is estimated to be a $7 trillion-a-year problem - inclusive leadership could be one of the most critical traits of modern leaders, so we want to make it easy. When we launched our global Membership network, it was a no-brainer to include allies. Honestly, we weren't sure if anyone would put their hand up. But with 31 men in our very first allies cohort, we were proved very wrong. Allies pay just $204 a year to become a member. For that, you get: 1. Access to a private space to connect with other allies. Why? Because these conversations can be hard. It's important for all of us to have private spaces to talk to others who experience the same challenges. 2. Access to an advice space with women leaders. Everyone who opts into this space agrees to strict rules. We know one of the biggest fears allies have is putting their foot in it, we also know that open conversations are a key to driving change. So, this is where you can ask all the questions you're afraid to ask, and seek advice on different situations, in a safe environment with other leaders who acknowledge we're not always going to get it right! 3. Regular events. We host regular online interviews with fabulous global leaders. Tune in to hear their insights, experiences and tips for fostering inclusion. Some of these events will be allies only, and some will be mixed. 4. A library or small actions. As with all things Powrsuit, we're about small, tangible actions to achieve big change. You'll have access to a growing library of tools and actions that develop inclusive leadership skills, challenge conventional thinking and help you build high-performing teams. Hope to see you in cohort 2, you'll be joining an incredible group who've already put their hands up to be part of the change. #inclusion #allies #ally #divserity #leadership
Welcome to our first male ally cohort! 🙌 We had men calling in from trucks on the road to the office and home. All putting their hands up to develop their leadership skills and perspectives in a safe space. Love that we have male Powrsuiters who genuinely want to solve the gender leadership gap for a win-win! #maleallies #leadership #community
