Really! How is recognizing a particular day out of 365 days, nearly 160 years after the event, cause you to learn and engage with local communities. Learn what and engage how and with whom from these communities????? This statement doesn't seem to have much substance. Please respond with something that will make me have to apologize for pre-judging it. What is the outline of your plan for creating sustainable change??
At Freddie Mac, we’re committed to creating sustainable change for racial equity across our industry. By recognizing Juneteenth — the oldest known celebration honoring the end of slavery in the United States — we continue to advance our learning and engagement with local communities.

The Boxser Diversity Initiative is concerned about the #Sarasota County Commission's recent funding decisions, particularly regarding the exclusion of important community programs like the Embracing Our Differences, Inc. exhibition, the Chalk Festival, and WSLR+Fogartyville. These programs play a vital role in cultural enrichment and community engagement in Sarasota County. While we appreciate the Commission's support for arts and cultural initiatives with $2.1 million in #tourist tax dollars, we believe excluding funding for these programs may overlook their significant impact. Embracing Our Differences, for instance, attracts hundreds of thousands of #visitors and promotes #humanrights and diversity through artistic expression. We urge the Commission to reconsider these decisions and ensure equitable support for all community programs that foster #dialogue and celebrate #diversity. Cultural diversity and artistic expression are essential to our community's fabric, and inclusive funding decisions will better reflect our shared values of tolerance and cultural vibrancy. Please read the op-ed from Embracing Our Differences, Inc.'s Executive Director Sarah Wertheimer: https://lnkd.in/e6rPdG2e The Boxser Diversity Initiative remains committed to advocating for fair and inclusive funding practices in Sarasota County.

Our society remains segregated because of systemic racism and other forms of oppression. To make vibrant communities, we need leaders who are aware of and committed to addressing racial injustice. Champions for Change is an embodiment of NEW’s devotion to that vision. Here, we offer innovative ways to approach racial co-liberation on personal and collective levels. Throughout Champions for Change, we nurture and support Leaders of Color and White Leaders in their efforts for social change. We cultivate dialogic skills, engage in critical self-reflection, and empower each other to leverage our influence to create racially equitable communities. Here, you’ll find a space for reflection, imagination, healing, experimentation, and transformation. Together, we’re laying the groundwork for systemic change in our communities. How do we cultivate community diligently working toward collective liberation? 🤔 Open Horizon has been exploring ways to better support Black women and Black gender-expansive leaders in the nonprofit sector and specifically in its foundational programming. After Open Horizon’s Executive Director, D'Lynn Jacobs, participated in a funders call facilitated by Dr. Yanique Redwood , she gained deeper insight into what could be done and who was already doing this important work. A strong connection was formed when D’Lynn met Aaron Goggans, the Dream Gardener of WildSeed Society. Their mutual commitment to #healingjustice and #liberation sparked a powerful reminder for Open Horizon of the importance of interconnection and reciprocity across organizations and individuals in philanthropy, movement and organizing work. As D’Lynn learned more about Wildseed's mission and vision, she was thrilled to find parallels in values across an ecosystem approach to change. The WildSeed Society envisions a world where everyone’s needs are met with dignity and joy—a vision that Open Horizon proudly supports.
