It is an honour to support the Sustainability Network's Vision2030, a multi-year, capacity-building initiative for environmental leaders across Canada. Vision2030 is a collaboration between Sustainability Network and 54 high-impact environmental NGO leaders from across Canada. The ultimate aim is to support Canada’s environmental non-profits to flourish in pursuit of a greener, more equitable future. Sustainability Network is joining forces with us and other funders to launch four programs—Decolonizing ENGO-First Nation Partnerships, The BIPOC ENGO Inclusivity Café, The BIPOC ENGO Inclusive Workplaces Lab, and Youth-Friendly ENGOs—with three more coming soon! These programs aim to: Increase knowledge and skills to decolonize ENGO-First Nation partnerships Increase awareness of barriers that underserved/underrepresented communities face when working in the ENGO sector Create a network of non-profit peers, service providers, and technology networks that ENGOs can learn from and work with during the program and beyond Develop concrete strategies to enable effective, multigenerational workforces in leveraging each generation’s strengths and engaging in mutual mentorship for organizational success.

I have this incredible opportunity to be on the expert advisory board for an amazing initiative in Europe that brings together 9 countries to advance climate change education. I know we can learn a great deal from each other if we're humble enough to see each others' strengths ❤️. It was eye-opening to hear of so many similar challenges and opportunities that were presented that they're all grappling with at different stages (super similar to our own)! Once a teacher, always a teacher and being that warm demander with my students has carried over into how I lead today. I don't let up under pressure and I was built to be resilient because I come from a long line of strong and incredibly resourceful survivors. That means that I don't shy away from conversations about equity or injustice, because I simply don't view it as optional. I intentionally surround myself around leaders who understand this and continue to open the door to provide opportunities that underscore and amplify historically marginalized voices to authentically incorporate diversity of thinking around solutions to issues that are shared (even across the globe!). Look for indicators of people's practiced values (ones that influence their actions) versus their theoretical values (ones they think they should have but don't influence their behaviors or actions). There is a clear difference when you have people speaking for others, or intentionally using their power and privilege to pass the mic. Grateful for this opportunity to light some bulbs and discussion points with my European colleagues who intentionally made space for me today, and to also learn from their work as well ❤️. Maybe a future post will allow for me finally see Europe and to make a mark while I'm there 😄! #Bucketlist #WeNeedNewTables #INeedAVacationASAP

It has been a pleasure to participate in the Edmund Hillary Fellowship's Impact Springboard sessions! We enjoyed sharing insights on how peer-to-peer technologies can propel purpose-led initiatives forward. Our discussions highlighted how Neighborhoods can enable groups to validate, record, and utilize information in new and unprecedented ways. We hope this has sparked new ideas about how this wealth of context-specific data can inform coordination and innovative funding mechanisms for your organizations. This approach aims to foster a forward-thinking culture that enables the organization to meet its goals while navigating uncertainty and disruption. This is what happens when 5 changemakers come together... We created the Island Impact Forum. We all believe in impact. We all believe in collaboration. We all believe in creating change locally. We co-created this event in Las Palmas between Vojtech, J, Kim, Alex and myself. More than 30 changemakers came together to: - Learn about local projects in Gran Canaria - Engage in panel discussions with the organisers - Debate in small groups about local issues and solutions - Network with other changemakers willing to make a difference Collaboration > working individually. The lifetime impact of an event like this is unmeasurable. It helps people boost their motivation to make an impact. It helps people learn more about issues and solutions. It helps people connect with others and take action. We need to focus more on high-impact, non-measurable actions. Connect with others. Educate others. Inspire others. Amplification and multiplication are the most effective ways to achieve critical mass for systems change. Like and share if you agree. P.S. What will you do to inspire others?
