#Battery Electric Vehicle #Vehicle to Grid Battery Electric vehicle (BEV) technology has witnessed remarkable growth in recent years as a clean and sustainable alternative to petroleum-based transport systems. In this project, we implemented an efficient electric vehicle of two (2) tons curb weight using modern technologies and components with the entire body parts fabricated locally. Consequently, we developed an BEV model with an acceptable range, performance and safety features while minimizing the total cost of ownership. The project involved the selection of the appropriate electric motor, battery, battery management system, integration of the electric powertrain, and the implementation of safety and control systems. The project involved also optimizing the overall system efficiency, reducing the vehicle weight, improving aerodynamics and implementing advanced charging systems. The project findings will thus contribute to advancing the state-of-the-art in EV technology while promoting energy sustainability especially in the transportation sector. Finally, our product has been able to address the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3 Good Health due to low carbon foot print, SDG 7 Affordable and Clean Energy, SDG 9 Industry Innovation and Infrastructure and SDG 13 Climate Action due to the low carbon footprint. The finishing part of our work will hopefully be a Vehicle-Grid Model one in which the energy conserved during the day after driving can be utilized at night for the grid but with appropriate fund.

In Electric and Hybrid Vehicles, a Traction Inverter does the function of converting Direct Current (AC) stored in the main Battery Pack into Alternating Current (AC) which is supplied to drive the Traction Motor to ultimately propel the vehicle forward. Electric motors used in Electric and Hybrid Vehicles work on AC and the current in each phase must alternate the direction of flow between positive and negative at the right time according to the motor shaft rotation and desired torque, similar to how a combustion engine requires the right amount of fuel and precise timing of the spark to operate. The faster the motor speed, the more frequent the alternation of current, just like the sparks in a combustion engine. This variable rate of changing current direction or frequency is precisely controlled by a Traction Inverter. Our Traction Inverters are offerings that we provide in collaboration with our German technology partner REFU Drive GmbH. These inverters come in two power ratings of 150kVA and 320kVA and are suitable for high voltage applications with input DC voltage range from 300-850V to provide a maximum AC output voltage of 500V. Transport Energy/Emission Research (TER) reviewed the latest consultation paper on the Australian New Vehicle Efficiency Standard (Consultation Impact Analysis) and made a submission, which will eventually be made publicly available. TER identified a number of risks and information gaps that could potentially undermine an effective NEVS. TER will present some of the issues raised in our review in posts here. Super credits: If super credits are actually used in the NVES, it will be critical that they also reflect the technology- specific risks that are already clear from international research. Recent studies into the actual use of Plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) have shown that electric drive is often only used for a small portion of total travel, in the order of 20% to 40%, which is significantly lower than what is expected in the official tests. Indeed, the relative gap (%) between real-world fuel consumption and the official figures is significantly larger for PHEVs, which is also confirmed in a current and ongoing collaborative research project between TER and the European Commission Joint Research Centre (JRC). Therefore it is recommended that the Australian NVES should critically review and adjust any credits - if they were to be used - to reflect realistic fuel efficiency improvements for each vehicle technology.

Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV) : Features a larger battery that can be charged via an external source. PHEVs can operate in all-electric mode for a limited range, reducing fuel consumption. 4. Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) : Runs entirely on electricity stored in the battery. BEVs have zero emissions and are increasingly popular due to advancements in battery technology. =>Hybrid Architectures :   1. Series Hybrid : The electric motor is the sole source of propulsion, with the ICE generating electricity for the motor and battery. 2. Parallel Hybrid : Both the ICE and electric motor can drive the wheels directly, either together or independently. 3.
