🤝 It all started with a challenge for the lighting design team... "Create a working environment aligned with natural light rhythms to promote the well-being of employees." 🏢 Marianella Velasquez and Andrea Soler, started with careful design, selecting luminaires of LedsC4 to comply with recommendations for circadian lighting and strategically distributing them to provide the best ambient and work light, complying with the WELL standard for lighting. This standard demands an illuminance of 250 lux MEDI at eye level starting before noon, a challenge they tackled with precision and creativity. They chose tunable white luminaires for quality light in workspaces, low glare, and adjustments in color temperature and brightness in a suitable range for wellness. The control system selected was Lutron Electronics, known for its reliability and ease of use. 🌅 However, the key element was incorporating KUMUX to add the necessary dynamism to simulate natural light, which allowed complying not only with the WELL standard but also with the recommendations of the Lighting Research Center for well-being. KUMUX enables a work environment that supports employees' circadian rhythms, reduces eye strain and other disturbances caused by poor lighting, and fosters productivity. Space themed plenary session design.... A new concept for a plenary session or talk event centered around a space theme. In this design, I created an event that used the same dimensions of a ballroom I used to work to make it as realistic as possible. Focusing heavily on LED technology, this room boasts a LED ceiling of the night sky so when people look up they see the galaxy. Obviously this is not created for the whole room due to the enormous cost this would involve. It also includes a walk on, LED floor for the speaker on top of a custom built half circular stage with LED triming. A large LED perspex bar at the back of the room, acts a meeting point and place for networking drinks pre and post speeches and between speakers. A heavy focus on lighting ensures that no generic house lighting needs to be used creating a dark atmosphere in the room similar to space. With this design it incorporates several circular trusses which simulate different planets while still looking professional and not resorting to chessy inflatable planets or expensive sets. Overall I wanted to create something that had a high emphasis on event technology and look to do something slightly different with a 'standard' plenary session setup while still remaining 'corporate'.
