Great to see the DLE columns are getting bigger. In this case commercial size - so taller and larger diameter with lots more bolts at the bottom. It struck me while hanging out the washing on the line that DLE columns look similar to the hot water tank alongside the house and next to the wash line. It also struck me that it’s what happens inside the DLE columns that counts. That matters. The DLE adsorbent resin that selects and adsorbs the lithium ions from the brine and desorbs it into the eluate which is subsequently concentrated to “lithium concentrate” (concentrated eluate). What’s interesting to me is that the recent DFS technical report showed that inside the columns, the Koch LiPRO LSS DLE selected by Standard over its own proprietary LiSTR appeared to do a superior job at rejecting impurities, but didn’t achieve as high a concentration of lithium in the post-DLE eluate. Results shown in the comments. Also, part of the rationale for selecting Koch LiPRO LSS DLE over LiSTR is that Koch provided a “performance guarantee”. Looking forward to seeing further test work results from the Standard demonstration plant using the newly installed, larger, commercial DLE column(s).
