While many companies jump straight into choosing pricing metrics and models, this skips over a vital step—packaging. GenAI may be a novel technology, but the old SaaS adage still holds: packaging first, pricing metric second, price point third. Michael Mansard explores a few of the top key packaging models here: https://bit.ly/3XIczVd

SaaS is not only evolving—it’s also expanding, to bigger TAMs and stronger business models, right before our eyes. We believe there’s an opportunity for SaaS companies to create products that work better together. We call these Platforms of Compounding Greatness ("PCG"). This essay is the first in our series on becoming a PCG: https://lnkd.in/gJTzQAwk

What are A La Carte, volume, bundled, unbundled, and per-feature pricing models? How can you implement them? What are their pros and cons? A La Carte — offer customers a choice to select the features they want or need. Then charge based on the features they pick. Volume discounts — offer discounts on volume. Looks counterintuitive for SaaS, but volume discount is great to test in combination with other models. Bundled pricing — combine two or more features to sell them at a lower price, often lower than the sum of individual pieces. Unbundled pricing — separate your features/product into different options and sell them separately. Per-feature pricing — create various pricing tiers based on the functions available in them. Packages with higher prices have more features/functionality. Find how to implement them and their pros and cons in the carousel below!
