The United States economy added 199,000 new jobs in November, up from October’s 150,000 but down significantly less than September’s revised level of 262,000. Job gains were most notable in health care, government, and manufacturing. The unemployment rate edged down slightly to 3.7 percent, and average hourly earnings rose by $0.12 to $34.10. Temporary help jobs decreased by 5.7 percent from the same month last year.
