A Canadian's Ode to America. "What the Hell Happened?"

(After Trump Won the Election)

America. What's happened?

To your dream

Founding Fathers Charter

Open for Opportunity

Inviting and Enticing

Anybody to Somebody

Inclusive not Exclusive

Invitation versus Intimidation

One for All

All for One

America. When Did?

Tolerance become Intolerance

Moral turn Immoral

Ambition go Blind

Partisan trump Purpose

Greed gorged Greatness

Richer bury Poorer

Fair went Factious

Leaders became Lechers

Reckless and Careless

Narcissistic. Absorbed. Entitled.

Deeply dividing society

with Myopic views.

Civil law has

lost its civility.

Rekindle your democracy

before your torch

starves of air.

Bury this election.

Shed the skins

of the Reptiles

scurrying for votes.

Rabid. Ridiculous. Rhetoric.

Slinging and spitting

spewing toxic mud.

Vile character assignations.

Groping, Grasping, Grovelling

Erase your stain

that stinks Democracy

Find a Leader

Bridge the Divide.

Rally the people

refute the establishment.

Lead a new March

360 Million Strong.

To reclaim, claim

'We the People,

for the People'.

What right does a Canadian have to comment on your election? I think the world is better off with a strong and fair America. Thanks for reading, commenting and sharing.

Neoliberalism happened.

2 songs come to mind: Is This The Life We Really Want? by Roger Waters; and Looking for America by Switchfoot. –Thought provoking. 'I'm looking for a miracle, I'm looking for America'.

What would you say to a registered and licensed taxi driver in a large city who refuses to give you a ride just because you look like Charles Manson? I believe there is a law against such a behaviour

As a Canadian who came to this great country legally some 24 years ago, the country today is very different from what we came to in 1992. My two sons who are dual citizens are set to vote (my youngest for his first time) in what may be the most important election this great country has faced in our collective lifetime. I have my thoughts and hopes but having grown up in a media household will keep these to myself. For the sake of all and especially the youth, I trust that we will get this right come Tuesday!
