PFAS RELATED CORPORATE NEWS FROM SEC FILINGS DURING THE LAST WEEK
FedEx reports that with the new designation of PFOS and PFOA as hazardous substances under CERCLA becoming effective July 8th, the company may incur remediation costs for currently and formerly operated facilities. This rule-making may have a negative impact of corporate earnings. The company remains committed to transitioning to PFAS-free materials for fire suppression in accordance with the framework outlined by the FAA in May 2023.
Conagra notes consumer demand for their products could be negatively impacted by concerns or perceptions regarding the health effects of certain packaging materials containing PFAS chemicals.

Love this. I'm glad to see some suppliers taking steps to eliminate PFAS and other forever chemicals. Fire suppression products such as everyday fire extinguishers contain these harmful chemicals, which are now being outlawed by the state. It's concerning to think that using a fire extinguisher to save your life from a fire could also put you at risk of cancer. I had no idea about this two years ago, and the list of affected products just keeps growing. This is a REAL issue that should be talked about more such as this article.
