End of Term Newsletter: Celebrating a Milestone Year!

End of Term Newsletter: Celebrating a Milestone Year!

As we wrap up the 2023/24 academic year and eagerly mark the start of summer (here's hoping for lots of sunshine!), we wanted to take a moment to reflect on some of our highlights and express our gratitude to everyone who has joined us in Transforming Lives and Creating Growth across the Liverpool City Region. This year, our 25th year, has been monumental for Elevate EBP, and we couldn't have done it without you!

Celebrating twenty five years of our ebp

We kicked off the academic year with a bang, celebrating our 25th anniversary with our biggest impact report to date! Since our inception in 1998, we've grown from serving Sefton to encompassing the entire Liverpool City Region, and our journey has been nothing short of incredible.

Our impact over the past quarter century has been tremendous, and we're immensely proud of everyone, past and present, who has contributed to this journey.

For a deeper look into our accomplishments over the years, check out our 25 Year Impact Report here!

Feeling the love this year

We really felt the love this year with several awards and nominations and the kindest feedback! Our CEO, Gill Ditchburn , received a Pride of Sefton award for the Business in the Community category, and we were honoured to be named one of the top 100 social enterprises in the UK by NatWest Group and Pioneers Post in the SE100. Our Sefton Children's University team were also one of the finalists in the LCR Culture and Creativity Awards!

We're also thrilled to be shortlisted for the Liverpool Chamber 's Innovation in Business Community Impact Award. Don't forget to vote for us before you log off for your summer holidays!

Making work experience work

This year has been another fantastic one for our work experience delivery. A huge thank you to all of our Work Experience Providers for their dedication to nurturing the next generation of employees - your generosity and commitment is truly inspiring!

Work experience facilitation is a topic that's been on everyone's lips recently, and as an organisation that has been delivering on this for over 25 years now, of course we had to have our say! It's been great to be a part of some important work experience conversations this year. You can read our recent response to the Double Disadvantage Report by Speakers for Schools here...

Finally, towards the end of the summer term, we unveiled EleWex, our new work experience platform! Designed to streamline work experience facilitation without compromising on quality, this platform has been fine-tuned with feedback from careers leads across the region.

To learn more about EleWex, becoming a Work Experience Provider, or to book on for the 2024/25 academic year, please contact Joanne Huddart at Joanne.Huddart@elevate-ebp.co.uk or 0151 330 5751

Our work experience promise. We promise to find an opportunity for every student regardless of social or economic background, whilst prioritising their safety through our rigorous assurance check model. We promise to open communication and unwavering support for students, schools, educators, and parents. We promise to lighten the administrative load for schools. And most importantly; we promise to have your back.

The best corporate volunteers

Our careers and enterprise events have been bustling with energy this year, thanks to our amazing volunteers! From familiar faces to new supporters, your involvement has been invaluable! Thank you to all of the professionals and organisations that joined us at our events this year, we really do have the best network!

It was great to chat to a few of these volunteers at our Pathways to Employment Meet the Professionals events earlier this year. We created some fantastic show reels from these events, which you can take a look at below.

Our next upcoming events list will be sent out as we begin the 2024/25 academic year in September, to be added to the mailing list and stay updated on what we've got coming up, please contact Tina Baker at Tina.Baker@elevate-ebp.co.uk

Primary programmes taking off

This year saw a huge increase in our primary delivery, with programmes such as Imagine My Future and Money Marvels quite literally taking off and making a big impact! It's becoming more and more clear that introducing careers and financial literacy early on is crucial to raising aspirations, and we're proud to continue to be part of this important conversation.

We'd like to say thank you to our Primary Sponsors and volunteers for supporting hundreds of Key Stage 2 students across the Liverpool City Region this year. Your efforts have made our primary school events, such as our Careers Carousels, a huge success!

We're so excited to see our primary delivery grow even more next year and are thrilled to announce that we'll be relaunching our Imagine My Future and Money Marvels programmes in the autumn term. We're looking for a number of businesses to come on board as Primary Sponsors to support these programmes in 2024/25. For a chat about the benefits of getting involved in primary sponsorship, please contact Laura Grigsby at Laura.Grigsby@elevate-ebp.co.uk or 0151 330 5760

Our 2023/24 Primary Sponsors included: Alder Hey Academy , A&O Shearman , Costain Group PLC , Merseyside Police , Peel Ports Group , The Sovini Group , Sandway Homes and more...

Hats off to the grads

The end of the academic year also marks the culmination of our Children's University graduations across Sefton, Liverpool, Lancashire, and Warrington! This year, our fantastic CU team has an absolute ball delivering graduations and we want to say a huge thank you and congratulations to all of the wonderful students who have taken part in Children's University this year - we hope you all have the most amazing summer filled with Learning For Fun!

We had some real superstars at our graduations this year, so we set them a little challenge: put on the glasses and strike a pose! Check out the video below and see if you can spot yourself!

A big thanks also goes out to all of the teachers, schools, parents, and carers who volunteer their time to support our students and this programme. We'd also like to say thank you to the universities and venues that hosted our 2024 graduations, and to our amazing guest speakers!

Children's University wouldn't work without our amazing Learning Destinations - so we owe them the biggest thank you! Parents and carers, if you're looking for activities to earn your little ones credits this summer, check out the Children's University Activity Search here!
