Happy Father's day Dad

I don’t recall spending a father's day with you due to the unfortunate set of circumstances that you were dealt and then you were taken from us far too soon.

You never got to see me reach the key milestones in my life, my 18th and my 21st birthdays. Meeting the beautiful woman who stole my heart and would become my wife. See me become a proud father of three amazing children and grandfather to six beautiful grandchildren.

You have often been in my thoughts especially as I have gotten older and I have reached an age that both you and mum did not get to see.

Whilst many things in life seem unfair for many of us, I do believe our paths are defined for us all and for me a path with a purpose and one which has led me back to you.

I started something this time last year, something driven by the motivation to help others who are having a really tough time, the motivation and drive behind this has been you.

I know that you have been there walking by my side every step of the way, you helped me through the challenges, you brought me to tears when I thought of you through my experiences, but most of all you gave me the motivation, persistence to see this through and to not give up. We even made it on to national television along the way.

I wished I could have helped you, but I do this in honour of you.

But we did it Dad! We got there and we will help to change and save lives. For that, I thank you.

As I look up to the sky, I wish you a very Happy Father's day, I love you Dad.

Happy Fathers Day in Heaven

I love you and I miss you, Dad,

and though you've passed away, 

you'll never be forgotten,

for I think of you each day.

If heaven celebrates this day

how special it will be.

A gathering of the many dads

upon our family tree.

Your father and grandfather

and great grandfather too.

How wonderful it is, if they

can spend this day with you.

May you know how much I love you, 

though I'm here and you are there.
