The New Warehouse Weekly Vol 46
I hope you had a great holiday weekend for those in the US and I hope you had a great regular weekend for those who are not! Last week the podcast was focused on reducing waste and being more sustainable. On Monday's episode we spoke about taking the air out of the box and on Wednesday's episode I spoke with the guy who was a catalyst for making cellphone trade-ins a thing.
One thing that stood out from both discussions is the importance of creating awareness and education on topics that are not as well known whether in the general public or even within the industry that they live in. In Ken's case there is a lack of understanding on how important dimensional data can be to your overall operation and from a cost savings perspective as well. From Rich's perspective, he didn't even know what reverse logistics was when he was actually working in and now he is trying to bring the awareness to the forefront with his book Going Circular.
Either way, education is incredibly important in our industry because we have so many moving pieces and people that make our industry go and get that inventory to where it needs to be. I've always focused on trying to make the podcast as educational as possible but I'm putting a concerted effort into developing more education specific content as well. I recently started with Warehouse Wisdom Wednesdays which get posted to my personal LinkedIn every Wednesday and then can be found more in depth through a dedicated email series. If you were wondering some of the basics of warehousing and the intricacies within processes then this email series is for you. I would love for you to subscribe to it and give me your feedback. I hope you have a great week and be sure to enjoy some of our content down below if you haven't already!
Thank you,
Kevin
